THIS AREA,SEKOTONG IS A VERY INTERESTING PLACE. SOME REALLY COOL STUFF HERE.
SNORKELING IS AMAZING. SO MANY WONDERFUL ISLANDS TO GO AROUND AND ALL ARE DIFFERENT. NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS PLACE---YET! FOR SURE ITS COMING.
I HEAR SUMMER HERE IS SOMETHING ELSE. MIGHT NEED A JACKET IN THE EVENING AND NO HUMIDITY. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WATER BETWEEN SEKOTONG AND BALI?? I HEAR THE HILLSIDES LOOK LIKE THE SOUTH OF SPAIN. DRY AND NICE BUT ACROSS THE BAY IS RAINIG. I WILL FIND THIS OUT FOR MYSELF.BECAUSE IM COMING BACK.

This is my first time visiting Sekotong with my partner and we loved it. Very peaceful and quiet. We recommend to take a snorkeling trip to Gili Nanggu, Gili Tangkong, Gili SUdak and Gili Kedis. Can't wait to come back here and stay longer.

Too isolated, no transportation available, no taxis.
Too isolated, no transportation available, no taxis. You are forced to stay at your hotel, and if you are unlucky to have a good hotel, then your holidays are spoiled.
Trash everywhere.
We got bitten by dengue mosquitos in Sekotong, so it tells you about the state of waste management.
I would suggest to simply come for islands hopping, although Gili Nanggu is very polluted.

A quiet area with beautiful views, lovely little islands to visit and interesting exploring via the motor bike. A must to do is to hire a local guide and boat and visit the small neighbouring islands for the snorkelling (which is AMAZING) and a sunset from the beach of a tiny island called Gilli Kedis. A perfect and magical day.

Great views of the nearby gilis.
Great views of the nearby gilis. Clean beaches and nice coral sand. A few options for food are available and a nice beach bar/restaurant available opposite the Wyndam resort. Nearby Alfamart for snacks etc. Area is walkable but scooters are the better option. Roads are newly paved with no damage.

The only benefit of staying in Sekotong is that you have easy access to the lesser known Gilli islands which are just short boat rides away (Max 30 mins). Examples - gilli Asahan with excellent Italian food at the eco lodge (we should’ve stayed there!). Also gilli ranggu near by had excellent snorkelling.
The breakfast was fantastic! So much good food to eat that on day two we had to ask for less. The location was fantastic with sea views from kitchen and pool area. Felt like our own private beach with a private pier to walk down and enjoy spotting sea life. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. They made arranging everything very easy and made sure that our experience was relaxing and memorable. We would definitely consider coming back.
Really, nice staff!! Mango homestay is a family run bussiness and they actually live just beside the rooms, so they are always near reach. With extraoridnarie service such as washing our salt water stained clothes without us having to ask, cooking us breakfast early in the morning, and helping us prepare and cock a fish we caugt. Im am totaly convinced that this is the best hotell establishment on the entire Gili Gede! :)
This is a lovely place to stay. Zuriah and her husband are charming and excellent hosts. One looks out over the water and It's a short walk up the hill to the Marina if you want the luxury of a beer etc. I walked around the island from here and it was delightful. Food was good, particularly the Gado Gado Zuriah prepared for me.
Comfortable and safe. You can organise a boat to other nearby islands for snorkeling easily.
Calm beachhuts to chill for a few days. The bungalows are basic but have everything you need. The owner cooks delicious food, so you don't even have to leave the hotel. There is many little chillout places and hammocks on site, where you can easily spend the whole day reading. We also booked a snorkeling trip with them, which was very cool. The coral is beautiful and very healthy in the area.
The location is in a really quiet environment of Lombok, not touristic at all. You can get some nice rest over here. In front of the hotel are the secret Gili’s, its a easy to book a tour with wonderful guides. The owner Helena is a great host. She is nice and wants to help with everything. Rooms upstairs are nice and spacious and you do not hear a thing at night.
- the staff was really great! We laughed and discussed a lot with them. We even played guitar and sang together
- we LOVED the fact that you don’t get bored even if you stay in the hotel. There are books, a billard board, volleyball, cards etc.
- they also have kayaks that you can use whenever you want
- the food was GREAT!!
Amazing place, the most beautiful beach, peaceful, very private, almost like a time travel. A standard of accommodation i've never found in the Caribbean, or at least never afforded to stay at. Huge open space, still private, and very social. Delicious breakfast, love mangos and passion fruit. Highly recommended!!
Staff was very friendly & accommodating
They upgraded our room because of a little glitch in the system with no issue as all.
Very clean and spacious room with beautiful views on the beach & neighbouring islands 🙏🏻
The menu looks good.
Very enjoyable stay here!
The food at the hotel was great and staff very accommodating and helpful if you needed anything. Mini store for snacks across the street.
Staff spoke good English which was helpful to us. They offer transportation. Perfect location to the Secret Gilis. 2 nice pools
This is one of the cleanest hotel I have ever found during my trip in Indonesia. The room arrangement is very cozy. The bathroom is okay. Most of the rooms have sea view. The food is nice. You can go to the island of Nanggu , directly from the hotel.
Everything about the hotel is fine. It's a bit pricey, but for good reasons.
They made dinner for us, even though we were the only guests that night.
They gave us a free upgrade, because they haven't had that many guests at that time.
Very friendly, openminded and helpful people. Drinking water was for free. Activities we're organized directly by the Hotel, also spontaneously. We really enjoyed the stay and were sad to leave.
The staff are superb! Caring and very attentive. Huge space. Great walks on beach. Watch the beautiful sunsets from the pool or dining room. Great choice for "getting away" - Recommended!
Everything new and super beautiful. with lovely details in the houses and Bungalows. clean pool delicious food very lovely stuff.
Beautiful corals 70m from the coastline of the hotel.
