Right in Ballyshannon’s centre, Dorrians Imperial Hotel offers home-cooked Irish cuisine, and rooms with en suite bathrooms. There is free parking and an on-site bar and restaurant. Charming old fashioned hotel yet modern. Bedroom was huge. Bed was very comfortable. Food was delicious. Great variety especially at breakfast. Staff very friendly. Location was central.
Set in Ballyshannon in the Donegal County region and Lakeside Centre reachable within 2.1 km, Assaroe House offers accommodation with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a terrace and free private parking. It’s a nice private house with two kind hosts. The Deluxe room was spacious, warm and clean with big enough private bathroom. The breakfast was Irish style and delicious, the hostess could probably cook you anything you wanted. The hosts joined us at breakfast to talk and share experiences and give some advice about sights to see and treated us like their family. Thank you very much!
Situated in Ballyshannon, Elm Brook B&B offers accommodation with free WiFi and flat-screen TV, as well as a shared lounge and a garden. I liked everything about my stay at Elm Brook. I had my independence in a lovely room & house in a central location with a class breakfast. The hostess was welcoming, friendly & helpful. I was very happy there.
Channel View offers accommodation in Ballyshannon on the Wild AtlanticWay, with a view of the Erne Estuary. Free WiFi and free private parking is available. The room, host and breakfast were all very good. Room clean and welcoming, not huge but more than sufficient for a short stay. The host was excellent with helpful suggestions for evening meals etc. and served good breakfast
Cookies Cottage, Ballyshannon offers accommodation in Ballyshannon, 18 km from The Organic Centre and 5 km from Five Oaks Ranch. What’s not to like! Gerald came over to greet us on the day of arrival and brought fresh baked brown bread and the best tasting free range eggs you’ll ever eat! Te property is your home away from home and all you need is available! The huge garden in the back is just perfect for kids and grownups to exercise such as play football, badminton or play frisbee and it’s fantastic for dogs!!! The location is just perfect, 1 minute away from Belleek and shops and just 5 minutes drive and you’re in beautiful Ballyshannon. I highly recommend a stay in cookies cottage as it’s the perfect staycation in a beautiful part of Ireland.
It was a very spacious and homely place to stay with great views and plenty of room for a big family to enjoy. It was very convenient for travelling to Rossnowlagh beach or Bundoran or further a field. It was a very quiet place to stay and very easy to get to
On my review it shows a sad face which should most definitely not be the case because we were completely satisfied with everything during our stay at Dorrians Hotel. (Filling review without glasses isn't a good idea !!). Its also anonymous. Silly me !!. . Its Annie + Jim from Ballymena + we just want to say we couldn't be more happy . . Owners + staff are lovely + really friendly + when you are in reception + a couple arrive in who were married 40 years ago + stayed in the Hotel call in to say "Hello" it shows how special they felt 40 years ago !!. . Really lovely to wish them Happy Anniversary. . I know if it wasn't for Covid restrictions they would've been offered dinner or a drink. . We can highly recommend Dorrians Hotel to anyone looking to book. . You will not be disappointed. . Annie + Jim from Ballymena. . Stayed from 12th August- 15th August 2021 x
Lovely varied historic old town, said to be the oldest town in Ireland. Interesting to explore both sides of the river. The history of the town can been seen in the buildings e.g. large CofI church on the hill, the now closed up lovely Presbyterian church, the convent complex being restored, the evidence of the old port, the former merchant's houses on the riverside, the derelict workhouse etc.
Unfortunately with Covid, town life was limited for the evening. However, Ballyshannon even during Covid is warm and inviting. The restaurant Nirvana had wonderful dishes. We used Ballyshannon as home base to explore around us. So many places to see, so Ballyshannon is a great central point to many areas to pop into. Of course Patricia and Harold are what ultimately made the difference. We will be back as cant wait to share with friends. Thank you both for making our little trip even during Covid, so memorable.
Well I am used to visiting Ballyshannon and I have relations there. But it is always a pleasurable and relaxing experience each occasion I visit. This time it was for the folk festival, and Eric Bell (former 'Thin Lizzy' guitarist, most certainly did not dissapoint when we saw him in Owen Roe's Bar. Unfortunately we only stayed one night!
A town steeped in history and tradition. If you’re looking for a coffee or a pint, you have plenty of choice. The Mall Quay is worth a visit. The Chimes of St Anne’s church really set the town alive. Make this a stop and you won’t Be left disappointed.
The Imperial is a proper old fashioned hotel. It is decorated and furnished in a traditional style, and is maintained to a high standard. The owners are on the premises and they and the staff are friendly and interested in their guests' comfort. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Donegal. Food offerings are old fashioned, however to a reasonable standard. For the more modern palate I would recommend visiting any of the superb seafood restaurants within 20 Km of the hotel.
Chanel View B & B was situated in a lovely quiet location with a beautiful VIEW only 5 minutes walk from Ballyshannon. Des and Patricia were very warm and welcoming hosts. The room was nicely decorated, immaculately clean with comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent lots to choose from. We had a great few days and definitely will be back.
I personally loved the location of Elm Brook B&B. It was so central to Ballyshannon, but yet accommodation was peaceful. Karen is the hostess with the mostess. Nothing was a bother to her and her breakfast in the morning was exceptional. If im ever in Ballyshannon again, i'd like to stay with Karen 😊
The breakfast was absolutely 1st Class, well prepared & so delicious. We even got to know our hosts very well in a short space of time. We will be visiting our friends in Ballyshannon in the future & would have no hesitation staying at Assaroe House again.
The owners went out of their way to drop us to the local hotel each night for dinner.
Ideal in town centre, travelled a bit to bundoran as lots closed in ballyshannon.
