FAQs about hotels in Cork

Irish Spirit In A Nutshell

Situated on the banks of the River Lee, Cork’s city center was originally built on marshes and many of its popular streets are constructed on the former river channels. With a thriving nightlife and a vibrant cultural scene, the Irish Republic’s second biggest city is full of surprises.

Those interested in history should pay a visit to the Cork City Gaol, an old prison transformed into one of the city’s most fascinating attractions, or join the Cork Historic Walking Tours, which have a great opportunity to learn all the city’s secrets.

For those craving more lively entertainment, the city has the famous Cork City Pub Crawl or even more exciting, the Barrack Street Challenge, where participants drink pints of beer in all bars along Barrack Street.

The shopping area is concentrated around the most famous street - St. Patrick Street. For local food specialities like crubeens, tripe and drisheen, browse bars and restaurants around MacCurtain, Washington and Oliver Plunkett Streets.

When flying to Cork Airport, you’re just a short taxi or bus ride from the lively city centre. Don’t worry about accommodations; Booking.com has plenty from convenient hotels, to cozy guesthouses and bed & breakfasts.

Lots to do around the city and outside.

Lots to do around the city and outside. A lot of gigs and an active night life. A car is a must if you want to see the natural beauty around the city. The city gaol is a must. Very eye opening in a depressing sort of way but really makes you appreciate being born in this century!

Cork is a fantasy and vibrant city. We did not expect much as we were mostly only staying as a jump off towards West Cork and Kerry but we ended up staying longer. It has a wonderful character and charm and really packs a punch for a city of its size. I will definitely be returning.

We loved staying in Cork - a vibrant city with an inclusive and welcoming vibe. We enjoyed local sites such as the English Market and Marina Market, stunning views from city parks, the vibrant and beautifully restored historic downtown, and learning about Irish history. We also appreciated proximity to day trips including Cobh and the stunningly beautiful Ring of Kerry. We would definitely return and had a fabulous experience in Cork!

Beautiful places. We visited the observatory Blackrock castle, we didn't really like the museum, but the place itself looks very beautiful with access to the Celtic Sea. We also liked the University and the fort, as well as St. Fin Barre's Cathedral.

Nice property a few minutes away from the city centre. A small hotel very well organised with a special mention to Valerie for making us feel welcome and at home. The breakfast was exceptional. Lots of choice on the menu, freshly cooked to order. Also plenty on the buffet with pastries, cakes, cheese, fruits, ham, juices,cereals... The coffee was very good, has to be said! Nice outdoor area also. Overall a very pleasant stay.

The public areas were lovely and modern, staff were very attentive and friendly. Location was a great bonus too, less than 10min walk into the city centre. Room was clean and housekeeping changed our towels and bedsheets for our 2nd night when we hung up the sign. We had lunch in the hotel and that was nice too.
