I was welcomed by Raquel who surprisingly knows the same languages I know. The hotel has a great history including Charles Dickens and it was nice to be in those halls. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. I also used their SPA with pool and saunas. When I return to Cork I will definitely stay at the Imperial Hotel again

FAQs about hotels in Cork

Irish Spirit In A Nutshell

Situated on the banks of the River Lee, Cork’s city center was originally built on marshes and many of its popular streets are constructed on the former river channels. With a thriving nightlife and a vibrant cultural scene, the Irish Republic’s second biggest city is full of surprises.

Those interested in history should pay a visit to the Cork City Gaol, an old prison transformed into one of the city’s most fascinating attractions, or join the Cork Historic Walking Tours, which have a great opportunity to learn all the city’s secrets.

For those craving more lively entertainment, the city has the famous Cork City Pub Crawl or even more exciting, the Barrack Street Challenge, where participants drink pints of beer in all bars along Barrack Street.

The shopping area is concentrated around the most famous street - St. Patrick Street. For local food specialities like crubeens, tripe and drisheen, browse bars and restaurants around MacCurtain, Washington and Oliver Plunkett Streets.

When flying to Cork Airport, you’re just a short taxi or bus ride from the lively city centre. Don’t worry about accommodations; Booking.com has plenty from convenient hotels, to cozy guesthouses and bed & breakfasts.

Lots to do around the city and outside.

Lots to do around the city and outside. A lot of gigs and an active night life. A car is a must if you want to see the natural beauty around the city. The city gaol is a must. Very eye opening in a depressing sort of way but really makes you appreciate being born in this century!

Cork is a fantasy and vibrant city. We did not expect much as we were mostly only staying as a jump off towards West Cork and Kerry but we ended up staying longer. It has a wonderful character and charm and really packs a punch for a city of its size. I will definitely be returning.

We loved staying in Cork - a vibrant city with an inclusive and welcoming vibe. We enjoyed local sites such as the English Market and Marina Market, stunning views from city parks, the vibrant and beautifully restored historic downtown, and learning about Irish history. We also appreciated proximity to day trips including Cobh and the stunningly beautiful Ring of Kerry. We would definitely return and had a fabulous experience in Cork!

    Beautiful places.

Beautiful places. We visited the observatory Blackrock castle, we didn't really like the museum, but the place itself looks very beautiful with access to the Celtic Sea. We also liked the University and the fort, as well as St. Fin Barre's Cathedral.

Great selection and quality of hot and cold food for Breakfast. Only negative for me was as there was 2 of us we would have preferred a pot of tea for the table. I had to look around before another guest explained that I had to use the coffee machine to make a cup of tea for both of us. Small gripe sorry but I love my cup of tea in the morning lol. Special mention to the lovely, helpful girls at the reception desk. Highly recommend thos Hotel if your staying in Cork City. Excellent location, close to Bus Station and City Centre.

The hotel is situated a short walk from a bridge to take you into the city centre, it is located in a quiet area but a short distance to the hustle and bustle. Our room was exceptionally clean with all the facilities you would expect such as hot drinks, hair dryer etc. The bed was a little small for our liking but each to their own as it was comfortable. The staff were very happy to help and breakfast was buffet style but freshly cooked with a good selection.
