Hotel in Donegal
Offering free WiFi, a swimming pool, a restaurant and free parking, Mill Park is located within a 10-minute walk from Donegal Castle and the Old Franciscan Abbey. Upon arrival I was surprised at the size of the hotel and concerned about the tour groups. My concerns quickly evaporated once we saw our room and had dinner on premise. The food selection and quality was surprising for a hotel catering to such large groups. We were especially surprised at the quality of the breakfast buffet. Additionally, the room was spacious. Most of all, we were impressed with all the staff …from the front end, to servers and housekeeping. Everything was perfect.

Mill Park Hotel, Harvey's Point and Lough Eske Castle are some of the popular hotels in Donegal.
It is a charming small town with good facilities and shopping. Our hotel, The Abbey Hotel, was on the main square and delightful with excellent staff and good food. We ate in the hotel and enjoyed the live music at night. We did some sightseeing in town but really came for the countryside around which is beautiful....I think a car is essential to get the best in limited time.
The castle is part ruine and part restored, and a good couple of hours can be spent there if you are genuinely interested in its history. Theres a pleasant short river walk. The town is very small and quaint, but not really developed for tourism.
Donegal is a beautiful county and we found the people very friendly . Donegal town is bustling with plenty of places to eat and drink lots of lovely beaches nearby as well. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but that’s the joy of going away in Ireland . We will definitely go back
Work trip - had a chance to see a bit of river and Chinese take-away :/ But from my previous trips to co. Donegal T would recommend this county for lovely scenery views, beautiful mountains and of course very welcome locals :)
Donegal is breathtaking. So many (empty) beaches to visit and places to see. Weather can be a hit or miss but we just dressed for it and it never was a problem. I never knew Sieve League are the highest marine cliffs in Europe- hidden gems everywhere
The Bank Walk was a nice way to view the bay. There is also a good view from the abbey ruins. We had a delicious seafood chowder at the Abbey Hotel although the portion of chowder and brown bread was a bit small. The Old Castle Pub served a very good Easter dinner special and their warm chocolate cake is excellent. We were on foot so getting to the musts along the coast was not simple. Without the Local Link and taxis we wouldn't have been able to do much. The woman at the tourism office was a big help. Slieve League near Carrick is a definite must even when the weather isn't great.
The hotel is quite old & dated, no air con in bedrooms, it was a really warm night & the heat was unbearable & the windows only opened about an inch. Room was clean but dated & run down looking. We had bar food, the service was extremly slow, it took about 45 mins for our main course to come & the same again for dessert. The hotel has a great location in the centre of Donegal town.
Donegal
Superb location, less than a two minute walk into Donegal Town. Facilities were excellent. We booked a triple room which was really comfortable with plenty of space and ensuite. All the communal areas and facilities were also spotless. Lovely continental breakfast before check out, topped off a really enjoyable stay. Geraldine was lovely and very accommodating. We will be back!
The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable with good sized bathrooms. The staff are extremely friendly and this is the fourth time we have been to this hotel. It is in a handy location with parking and only a few minutes drive from Donegal Town Centre. It is a great base to visit the Wild Atlantic Way and other scenic locations.
Location was very close to the center of Donegal and we could walk into town. After all the parking challenges in Ireland, this location was a breeze. The facility itself was well done and very clean. We did not expect to stay in the hotel for dinner but since it rained upon arrival we did and had a very good dinner.

Friendly staff, great location. Nice resto, well-organized brekkie. Heart of town but quiet, nice view of the river/bay from some rooms. Comfy pub.

Everything about the stay was perfect. The location is beautiful. The house is perfectly maintained, cutely arranged and had all the necessary facilities and more. As the name suggests the first thing you see from the cottage are majestic windmills. Karen is a great host. We checked in late and she made herself available on text to answer our doubts and to give us directions. Now we have a go-to place to stay when we visit Donegal every time!
