The only thing I think is missing is facilities for a proper night out. The pubs are small and they only play Traditional Irish Music. It would be great if there was a bigger club with a dance floor and other music styles (different bands).

Beautiful, natural, unspoilt part of Ireland, where everyone we met was very friendly. Achill Island is easy to explore and has some fantastic scenery, high sea cliffs and deserted beaches (at least in mid-June!), especially Silver Strand and Golden Strand, where there is a lovely cafe . A good place to eat is the Bayside Bistro, Keel, very clean with varied menu and excellent service.
Great location, fabulous views.
Great location, fabulous views. Keem and Keel beaches nearby, both are highly recommended.Lots of outdoor activities to try. Recommend the local equestrian center for a trek around the area, lovely staff.Overall a great place to visit.

A beautiful area, went as a paraglider on a bank holiday, spilled by only one farmer who rather than chat and explain his worries over sheep, called the guards. Pity really, all other farmers welcome us every year.people on the island very nice and genuine. Friends and family amounted to about 50 odd, it'll be moved hopefully next year

On our visit we had exceptionally good weather but Achill in general is picture perfect from Keem bay, keel , minnaun cliffs , Dugort with slieve mor and lovely beaches. You do need a car to get around so no drinking till you get parked up for the evening

When you travel to achill it is worth it to keep going past keel onto Dooagh.. It's a perfect location for beaches especially keem, cliff drives, the highest in Europe, stunning views and of course you have a better chance of seeing the Dolphins playing in the bay.. We saw them 3 evenings out of our four night stay... You do need a car even though we saw a lot of cyclists and our hosts we very willing to drop and collect. Restaurant prices very reasonable and fresh coffee and scones to be had everywhere. The whole island is spotlessly clean and the locals very friendly. Achill is a must on everyone's to do list,!
