From the friendly management and staff, to the very comfortably appointed room, to the lovely breakfasts, The Brandtwell did not disappoint in any way. A bit more about the breakfasts: the breakfasts were included in our reservation and we were able to choose from the ala carte menu. Breakfasts were specially prepared for us and they were without doubt some of the best breakfasts we have had recently. We felt that we were treated as individuals by friendly staff rather then being mass processed in a large hotel breakfast room.

Very nice hosts and a super clean place. Milk, coffee, and other breakfast items were an appreciated extra. Comfortable farmhouse in a lovely country setting. We would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable rooms, which were clean and fresh, and smelt lovely. Outside was relaxing and beautiful views of the countryside. Was 5 min drive from town, and the local tesco.

    A very pretty village on the Shannon.

    A very pretty village on the Shannon. There are 3 bars each with restaurants & a cafe in the village. There is a buzz in all of the bars. People are very friendly. You can get a train from Dublin to the village of Dromod for a day trip (met someone who was doing that) or a weekend. One Bar/Restaurant in about 2 mins walk from the train. The Village is about 6-7 mins walk. You can hop on the train (get a return) which will bring you to Carrick on Shannon & return within a few hours so you dont need a car.

    lovely location - quiet and peaceful.

    lovely location - quiet and peaceful. beautiful Marina with nature walks. 3 local pubs however lack of vegan / vegetarian options on all menus however we were catered for in our B & B/pub short drive to Carrick on Shannon for shopping
