This is the most well appointed beautifully managed Guest House we have ever stayed in. We truly felt like special guests the moment we arrived when Irma, the owner, greeted us with her welcoming smile and the promise of tea, or coffee and homemade apple pie after we had settled ourselves in our lovely rooms (with fresh flowers from the garden and every small convenience we might have required). Breakfast could not have been more sumptuous- my choice - the smoked salmon and eggs - my husband’s the made to order omelet. The back garden which all guest rooms faced was breathtaking with its lovely flowers and backdrop of mountains. The Main Street of Kenmare is a short 7 minute walk away has local charm not to be missed.

The view left us speechless. As soon as we pulled up we felt welcomed by Geraldine and her daughters. They made us feel like part of the family. Their home is cozy and comfy and I had one of the best sleeps of my life. The breakfast was phenomenal. On top of your meal choice was fresh scones and bread, the best we’ve had in our whole lives! It’s one of those places you go and feel at home and never want to leave.

I love kenmare.

I love kenmare. We had a great night at the fright night and the next day we went to the waterfalls, lovely couple running it. I love the white room shop as I always buy something different there. We'll be back.

Kenmare is an absolutely charming town on the southern side of the Kerry Peninsula. Great dining, wonderful places to stay, such fun to walk all over the town and the perfect launching point for our tour around the Ring of Kerry. We stayed in a wonderful 'townhouse hotel' (bed and breakfast over a beloved pub) right in the heart of the town and loved it. Killarney seems to be the most popular launching point for exploring the Ring of Kerry but we opted for smaller, more local and charming in Kenmare. Absolutely the right choice for our family of four.

Kenmare is on the Ring of Kerry, which is a must-do.

Kenmare is on the Ring of Kerry, which is a must-do. Possibly better to start from Killarney as there is a fair amount to see between Killarney & Kenmare, & (going clockwise) it's a bit much to do last after a long day. In fact if time allows I would strongly suggest doing the Ring over 2 or even 3 days. But our experience was that Killarney accommodation is more expensive & sells out faster. Kenmare itself is pretty and pleasant and walkable, probably not necessary to spend more than a day there though.

A nice town with some lovely shops, restaurants and bars. A good base for visiting the ring of Beara, The Limetree and No.35 restaurants are lovely places to dine and there is ample bar food in the pubs too. Make sure to try out Tom Crean lager and ale!

Wonderful location at the cross roads of so many must visit places. The town itself is vibrant and charming and very well serviced with pubs and restaurants. What could be better after a busy day exploring then sitting outside Foleys catching the evening sun and enjoying a pint while deciding what and where to eat.

It is a spacious accommodation in a quiet location a short walk from Kenmare town centre. Nick and Dólan keep it spotless clean and care for all needs, they are very helpful and really, really nice guys with a good sense of humour. As we were on the road all day, we had too less time to chat with them unfortunately. Nick provided us with information about what to do on Beara Peninsula etc. The bed is super comfy and there’s a back terrace facing River Sheen. We definitely recommend the Kingfisher Riverside Retreat.

The woodburning stove under the TV was extremely cozy for a stormy November evening. The scenery, the sheep and the cows, it's a beautiful place. We didn't see the hosts while we stayed but they left milk, cakes and everything we needed in the apartment. The decor is lovely, the facilities are great, the bed is comfy and the view is beautiful. It's about 3 minutes drive from Kenmare town. No negatives to speak of, great place.
