Quaint fishing village with nice restaurants and friendly people. Took ferry to Great Saltee Island and enjoyed 3 hours exploring the island. Excellent destination for anyone who loves nature, wildlife and the great outdoors.
Good breakfast ,nice decor of dining area and bar, motel style rooms,,parking at your door. Everything you need is in the room but the lighting is very poor and the dark colours in the room is very depressing, not very warm either , radiators only lukewarm
I always enjoy this beautiful sea side village. A stroll along the 9 mile beach is a great way to get a good walk in the lovely fresh sea air. In the last 10 years this village has really improved. Always the locals have a lovely warm welcome. A visit to the Saltee Islands is a must. Wear appropriate foot wear & clothing as it can be breezy & uneven underfoot. I ate in the local Chipper near the harbour. The food was so fresh & tasty. Yummy.
We loved Kilmore Quay and would definitely go back there. We went to the local beach everyday as it was convenient and very safe for children. We visited the local pub a few evenings and the local hotel Coast a few evenings also. Both were excellent for service and friendly staff. We ate at Mary Barry’s one evening and the food was very good. Could recommend to visitors.
I think breakfast should be included in the price. The room I was in needs to be repainted. and revamped. Cleaned. Etc. Biscuits in the room would be a nice touch. Mary barrys restaurant is lovely a visit is a must. I had my first meal there last night. This was my 2 time in kilmore quay.. water activities. Boat trips.
Good location for visiting the Saltee islands which is renowned for its wide range of seabirds. A photographer's paradise! Be warned that access to the island can be very difficult if seas are rough. Need to be fit and agile!

Friendly helpful owners and a comfortable bed with an early tasty breakfast to follow ... had to dash off to catch the Rosslare ferry - a good half hour drive away. Loved the nearby harbour of Kilmore Quay and a great meal at nearby Mary Barry's as recommended by our hosts.
