Newcastle (Near Newtown Mount Kennedy)
Located in Newcastle in the Wicklow County region, Lodge Sycamore Hill has a patio and garden views. We were looking for a break away from the city, and this "home away from home" exceeded our expectations! So comfortable, welcoming and spotlessly clean! Really felt like staying with friends. Within 10 min we felt at home as everything was clearly marked and explained; the hosts are a lovely and attentive couple, who were happy to share their local knowledge and gave us amazing advise to make the most of our time considering the weather, our mood and appetites; the rooms were tastefully decorated and supplied with everything we could possibly need on a holiday. We wouldn't think twice about staying here again!

Location great, scenery very good, Leisure and Pool facilities very good. Reception staff very friendly except first morning I was charged for Daily Newspaper second morning I was not, worrying. When we came down for breakfast , waitresses who never smiled or interested told my wife and I " sit wherever you like ". When we were leaving restaurant after our breakfast they never acknowledged us when we said goodbye and thank you. My wife had hake for evening meal that did not taste like fish covered in brown tasteless sauce sitting on cold mash. My Beef was over cooked and also sat on cold potatoes. Observed Cheff serving up meal, literally threw food on plate without using utensils. Barman unfriendly and NEVER smiled.
Regular bus either directions... Short distance from major areas and routes... Felt rural and pleasant to walk around.... Plenty of places to eat and a large supermarket too.... Great location for walking...
filty dirty, food was horrible, we ordered roast beef for dinner, there was no mash potatoes left so we said chips was fine, beef and chips arrived we waited 10 minutes maybe 15 minutes for veg and grevy to arrive! Would not recommend this hotel to stay in.

Disgraceful service .When I arrived was told my room had a leak and I was moved to a different hotel. No one even bothered to ring me to let me know about any of this. Ruined myself and my girlfriend's whole night.
