Portlaoise is a lovely town with plenty to offer.
Portlaoise is a lovely town with plenty to offer. We enjoyed great coffee at Chocolate Brown and Square Coffee, visited beautiful local churches, and found a variety of excellent restaurants. Shopping was convenient, and overall the town felt very safe and welcoming.

Wanted to eat in proper Irish pub with live music as we have done at several other locations. Loads of bars, none serving food. Plenty of takeaways but didn’t want to sit on a bench to eat. Stayed at end of holiday so wanted to take home some local produce, cheese, bread, cakes but just one supermarket selling same as UK. Handy stopping off point between Killarney and Dublin but little else going for it

The town is not what we expected!
The town is not what we expected! There are so many pubs and restaurants who do both sit down and take away meals. Lots of live music coming from several pubs walking up and down the town. Very nice place! Only 50 minutes from the Red Cow so we were able to get the Luas into Dublin. Although we drove ourselves, we saw lots of taxis so I'd imagine it's very easy to get around.

I reviewed Harry Potter Themed guest house, in the house...
I reviewed Harry Potter Themed guest house, in the house room 4. The response I received was appalling to say the least. To say I should have booked the Hilton because I mentioned we had to collect our key from a table, with no one to give us bath towels that were not supplied in the bathroom and that the shower was dirty and not cleaned since last person used it and foul smell in the bathroom. Also no fire escape plan and dangerous exposed wires for the lighted cotton wool over the bed is childish and insulting. I am not posh in any way. Just expect a clean safe room. This is not a response anyone should expect from any accommodation.

The staff were great very friendly from the first to the last. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Parking was free and ample with all the facilities you might want on the one site.

The whole stay was lovely, comfortable and safe .
It was very clean and plenty space . Bathroom was spacious also .
I was left a very detailed personalised list of amenities as regards the cabin and also local eateries and information as regards taxis etc...
I was staying here as I had a course close by . It was nice to stay in the cabin as an alternative to hotel and avoid the busy mid term break with families and slamming doors and busy pools etc... lovely to have an alternative to this in the area .

Lovely apartment - modern, clean & tidy with everything you could possibly need even bathrobes to little shampoos, conditioners, soaps & body lotions, just like a hotel. Great location too, just a 5 min walk into Portlaoise town. We really enjoyed our stay!

I liked the convenience of this hotel to Dublin city, we were travelling to the Cork hurling all Ireland match.There were 3 in our room and the rate was very reasonable.The room service was excellent.
