What Guests Said About Roscommon:

Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants.

Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants. Breakfast tends to open at 09:00 and service ends about 21:00. Pubs stay open till 23:00 or so weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The circle K is 24 hours. Some pizza places stay open and serve till 23:30. It has several men's and women's clothing shops. Pharmacies and gift shops. Other dry goods and a Supervalue and Tesco. It is a very walkable town and both the Castle and Old Abbey are a few walking minutes from downtown. We ate at the Cozy Cafe( closed Sundays), The Rogue Cafe and The Pantry for breakfast. All were very pleasant. We liked Ryan's Bar. Quietish and Michael was a great host/barman. We had dinner at Regans, Jackson's and China King. ~€100 for three adults with wine. We really enjoyed the walkable nature of the town. Especially, coming back to Tatlers Guesthouse after spending time at the pubs.

None of us had been here before.

None of us had been here before. We did the river tour to Clonmacnoise with Hidden Heartland tours, and despite the awful weather when we were there, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We ate at Thyme restaurant for one of the nights - fabulous. We now have some very good memories to cherish in the future, from the accommodation, tour and meal.

We have family in Roscommon so we’ve been there a few time, it’s a lovely little town with such friendly people. Everything you would need is all within walking distance it’s a great place to go for a short break, we stayed at the Abbey hotel so there was no need to use the car to go into town. We can’t wait to go back next year.

Roscommon has more to show then what meets the eye,

Roscommon has more to show then what meets the eye, I particularly enjoyed my brief visit to the castle. On my return I intend to make use of the professional staff. Wonderful little eateries in the town with tasty fare at very reasonable prices. More should be made of the beautiful church buildings.

The Abbey Hotel is a well established family run hotel, the personal attention to detail is evident, the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Grounds are lovely, it's' within walking distance of the town centre. The rooms are big and spacious and ours had a really lovely view over the front gardens and an added bonus is that we could see the church spire, Its a lively spot too , A really lovely gem of a hotel

The owner went out of his way to be helpful. He very kindly collected us off our train at Roscommon Station. He than drove us and another Guest to Roscommon Racecourse. The following day he drove us into town which was greatly appreciated. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean as was the ensuite bathroom. I'd have no hesitation in recommending it. It was excellent value for money too.

This is a great option in Roscommon - very central location, nice and friendly staff member who checked me in (even adding on breakfast for me when I asked if it was included - I could not remember - but I didn't end up having it); big and comfortable, spacious room; great tea/coffee-making facilities; check out at 11. The accommodation is above a cosy and nicely-decorated pub...

Excellent staff, very welcoming, a very friendly family run hotel. Breakfasts were delicious, we also had dinner on our last night there and it was very tasty with a good choice of menu. Rooms were clean and very spacious but in need of updating, but that wouldn't stop us from staying there again
