    Simply not made welcome.

Simply not made welcome. Immediately told I’d parked in the wrong place! Room was ok and very clean but lacked bathmat for instance. TV didn’t work. Water was very low pressure. Couldn’t use shower. Wanted breakfast at 9.30. Told finish at 9. Breakfast pathetic. Plastic cheese slices and white bread from Lidl. I paid £90 with Booking. com. Not at all impressed. I’m in Ireland so I expect to speak English or Gaelic. Not the case. Overall a bad experience.

I have never had a similar experience in my life, and I mean...

I have never had a similar experience in my life, and I mean that in a bad way. First, we arrived at the property and the lady working there was not friendly at all, I should have been guided by my first impression. The music in the hostel that the owners had was very loud, and we were on the ground floor, they obviously knew that would disturb the guests. To turn on the bathroom light you had to turn it on in the hallway, the radiator didn't work, we found hair in the shower and bathtub, sheets stained with something that we suspected was blood. The room smelled of humidity that the smell stuck to you. It was very cold in the room, so we please ask the lady to turn on the heat and her answer between screams again was: 'NO, THE ROOM IS WORM!! I'll turn on the heating in an hour' and she left. Since when do you pay for a night in a place and they don't turn on the heating? We couldn't be there for more than ten minutes, we had to leave and book somewhere else. The employee called the owner, who was the same or worse than her, super rude and unpleasant. I have been to hostels, hostels and all types of accommodation, and NEVER in my life have I felt so badly treated as in this place. Normally I like BB's because of the close treatment and affection that the owners show to their guests and their business, but this place... I don't even know how it's still standing, or how they have employees like that, this place should be closed, if you don't know how to give good service, dedicate yourself to something else! I'm still waiting for them to at least get my money back, I've never had such a horrible experience. Avoid this place at all costs.

I lived and worked in Scilly for many years and it is by far my favourite place in Kinsale ( Big up to The Spaniard ), the views, the quietness, the ambiance just all so amazing. Just if you rent a room in Kinsale BnB in Featherbed lane IT IS NOT SCILLY, they will just treat you like s**t. Otherwise please just walk around the cove and up the Hill, enjoy a pint in The Spaniard, push it on the Scilly walk and down to the Bulman, Summer Cove, Charles Fort, and the bestest sunset by the sea !

First visit to County Cork, hope it’s not my last.

First visit to County Cork, hope it’s not my last. Beautiful beautiful part of the world - gorgeous scenery and friendly locals (even to an Englishman!) , I took the kids this time so culture, fine dining and hiking / scenery admiring wasn’t the priority but if I go again without the kids those things will be my priority. On warm days the beaches in Cork are absolutely fantastic - the kids loved it.
