SwitzerlandWe had a large family gathering, on the weekend of July 15th, with many bookings, and some changes, so it was quite complicated for the staff, but they were extremely patient and professional. We were able to reserve separate area in the bar, just for ourselves. perfect for our group. We did this on both nights and there was no charge at all. It had it own TV also, which was fantastic as it was a weekend of golf and GAA. Check in was perfect, I wish I could remember the name of the young man who did our check in, he was fantastic, and looked after us during ourstay. Other family members remarked the same thing. If management is reading this, I hope they can trace you I mention. Location is fantastic, right on the sie of the river.

The riverfront shops, multiple cuisines worth of restaurants, and other sights are well worth a wander through. I enjoyed the preserved bits of industrial history, as well as how that intersects with the Yeats trail. With the exception of the abbey, the town of Sligo isn't a particularly strong attraction. The surrounding countryside is another matter. Downpatrick Head, the town and beach of Mullaghmore, Keash Caves, Queen Maeve's Cairn, Union Rock, walks along the shores of Lough Gill, are all easily accessible by car from a base in the town and well worth a visit.Guest review byJohnCanada - 10.0

You're situated in the perfect spot to get the best out of Sligo. Right beside the city, two mins from rosses point, and about 15 mins from strandhill.
