Located in Mayo, The Village Inn provides accommodations with free private parking. Westport is 20 miles from the bed and breakfast, while Enniscrone is 22 miles away. Nice B&B for the price. Clean. Authentic Irish experience...why stay at a hotel chain when you've come to see Ireland? Downstairs there is a lovely pub. We came during the Christmas season and the B&B as well as the pub were nicely decorated. Give it a try! Lots of free parking behind the building. Convenient location off the N5.
Excellent .Lovely rooms. Great hosts we feel lucky to have found such a great B&B Will definitely be back. Great base to travel the West of Ireland. Breakfast excellent. Rooms spotless Hosts great. Loved our stay will stay longer next time
Convenient location for visiting family in the area. The town looks sad and neglected in places. But we made the most of it. Had lunch in the Gateway hotel, with huge portions! Had an evening meal in Campbell's Lounge Bar, which was very nice. Enjoyed some unexpected entertainment by a fiddler and flute player! Spent time with family in Horkans bar, which was very noisy, but fun! These places were lively and buzzing. But it was a shame to see so many boarded up properties on the High Street.
Well the times were in now with every where closed We were lucky with hotel & just a few doors down you have cambles pub .does great food made us fell very welcome. So if your visiting call in .liam & staff were so welcoming.
There for family gathering a few miles away. Good situation to explore the surrounding area and....get to the sea. If self catering shops all within walking distance. On the whole excellent roads with the exception of the quirky single track roads with grass growing up the middle ....satnav seemed to have a penchant for finding a route using some of these L roads....beware😂😱. Main roads generally have excellent surfaces. Plenty good eating places around area.
Michael Davitt: he lived in the workhouse in Swinford with his mum when he was four years old. He became an important human rights advocate for here and other colonial countries, which have had very little voice in governments. Go visit the famine graveyard in Swinford, behind the hospital. County Mayo could have easily grown enough food to support its own population, but the crops was exported, and the people here starved - heartbreaking,
Check out Mellett's Drinking Emporium, a real old world pub full of artefacts and memorabilia from past times. Also the 19th century handball alley and the Brabazon memorial in the graveyard. The Gateway Hotel was also very good and this part of the word specialises in brown bread.

We had a lovely time at swallows cottage. Everything you need is there. So clean. Comfy beds. Patricia is so helpful. We even got to meet a lady who had been born in the house years ago. Was so nice. Tesco and swinford town are litterally a 3 minute drive in the car.
