IrelandCan't say enough good things about our stay at Birdhill Farmhouse. Check in was a breeze and communication was fantastic from Sue beforehand. We were greeted by her husband and the many farm animals to the rear of the property. (Fred the St Bernard stole the show!) The house was very spacious, spotlessly clean and overall, a very relaxing and comfortable place to stay. It was my friends birthday and I forgot to bring matches for the cake candles. Fear not, after a text to Sue, she had some dropped to the door! Would absolutely recommend Birdhill Farmhouse to anyone thinking about staying near Birdhill / killlaoe. Location is super convenient. :)

Hotel was excellent - in fact this is our all time favourite Hotel. Racing at local track was very enjoyable (as always) with very hospitable people who are the epitome of friendliness and good punting helped for a great evening! Love The Glen of Aherlow for its tranquility and beauty with The Statue of Christ the King a particular favourite.

It was lovely.
It was lovely. I hiked the Glengarra Wood to Lough Curra and went for a swim. Views were incredible, icey conditions as expected in November but with the right precautions it was just a wonderful day.

Visit to Tipperary Racecourse was brilliant (and always is). It is a very family orientated course with friendly and happy people in a relaxed atmosphere. Even the Bookies are friendly! The Glen of Aherlow is beautiful and one of my favourite places in Ireland - The views from the statue of Christ the King are amazing!

Lots to see around Tipperary and makes for a good central...
Lots to see around Tipperary and makes for a good central location to explore Clare, Cork, Limerick and Galway all with easy reach.
Great food in Cashel (as well as the Rock) and Cahir is wonderful as are Nenagh and Clonmel.
Holycross is interesting, so much to see. Also and maybe most importantly, so many great coffee places (thumbs up).

Quite simply there is a dearth of accommodation in this part of Ireland. And pricing is optimistic and enthusiastic. It is difficult to think of any particular reason to visit unless you have a specific purpose in mind. I visited to advance genealogical research- with some success.

The Hotel is very pleasant and quiet despite being fully booked. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Food is without fault. Tipperary Racecourse is well worth a visit and of course The Glen of Aherlow is not to be missed!
