Host is awesome ; very accommodating. Location is excellent with easy walking access to shops, restaurants, bars and a walking pier. Also I played golf at three high ranked golf clubs with lovely views of the Irish Sea.
Arrived from the ferry on Tuesday. Struggled to find a place to have dinner, other than McDonalds. Seemed a little drab in town but as everything was closed (Monday and Tuesdays) in the evening, this may not be a true reflection. Only stayed overnight so didn’t get to see much.
The Wexford quay the train coming in visiting the local cemetery as my parents are laid to rest there visiting relatives an the local beaches an pubs the John Barry pub almost next to the talbot hotel an apartments.Good entertaiment most nights to sing along with the locals.
Wexford is a great town, we visit once or twice a year as we live in the next county. As a child we usually had our family holidays in Wexford and that usually involved some time in Wexford town so it has fond memories for me. Wexford still feels like an authentically Irish place to visit and is in the centre of Ireland's sunny south east. I like the main street and all the narrow streets leading off it. There are lots of historical places of interest to visit and plenty of good eateries. I particularly liked our recent meal at the Riverbank House Hotel.
It was not a 4* hotel , I have already left a review but couldn’t put everything wrong with this room in . The blackout curtains wouldn’t close all the way broken at top , they had holes in them aswell , the see thru curtain that pulled across was filthy . The pillows were horrendous, like a pancake & hard as a rock . I went out & bought 4 new pillows . The bed was stained sheets stained & mattress protector was covered in huge yellow wee stains . I will definately not recommend this hotel .
Wexford is a small town lots of parking (free after 6pm on the street). Easy to walk around. A limited choice of places to eat in the evening but we had a good meal in The Bank. Lovely to stroll along the waterfront.
Wexford
The ensuite bedroom was bright and clean and we slept well. Breakfast was available from a co-venture, The Shack, operating from a small container in the car park. there was a subsantial selection from traditional Full Irish to fruit and cereal choices. Special mention goes to the fried eggs, best in class! Good cup of coffee too. We were met by the manager of the accomodation who was courteous and helpful, especially in relation to parking. I'd rate him as a typical Wexford business-man - they're a special friendly breed.
Wexford
Lovely room with a sea view. Comfy chairs, v comfortable bed. Great base to explore this corner of Ireland. Excellent breakfast - lots of choice and fantastic service. Located just on the edge of Wexford with ample parking so no need to move the car if you are spending time in Wexford. Damian was very helpful on check in- lots of good info on places to visit/things to do. ideally located for a stopover if you are catching the ferry from Rosslare. We highly recommend and will be returning!
Wexford
Perfect location to spend two separate nights after an evening arrival at Rosslare and also the night before an early departure (07.00). Rosslare is 18 mins away. Comfortable, clean, quiet and a lovely Irish breakfast on the first night.. We were given sandwiches, crisps, fruit, and biscuits as we felt it was too early for breakfast on our departure morning! A local hotel provided adequate food in the evening but I'm sure a better meal could be found in Wexford just 5 mins away.
The food was very nice. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Well decorated and it was quite in the mornings too which was good for getting a rest. Some of the staff were friendly. Breakfast was tasty and they serve you at your table. Taxi service is good if you want to get in and out of town. You will pay 10 euro per trip. Hotel is cheaper than staying in Wexford town.
This was a wonderful relaxing stay with a few pampered bonuses thrown in for good measure! We were amazed by the 5 star breakfast spread! The best meal of our time in Ireland over the course of 8 days. An absolute gem of a place and the couple who own and manage it were lovely people and catered to every need without exception.
Wexford
This is a roomy, comfortable, well-equiped one bedroom apartment walking distance to everything. We would definitely return if ever in Wexford again! Ann, our host, met us and walked us through the apartment explaining everything. She was readily available when we had questions.
Wexford
Apartments were lovely, ideal for families. The hotel itself was nice but service was very slow. Loads to do and see in Wexford. Would definitely recommend
