It is a place with great historical importance.
It is a place with great historical importance. Bishnipur is know as Temple town and has many great monuments. The town is also know for world famous Baluchari saree. One can also visit Joyrambati and Kanarpukur, the birth places of Ramkrishna and Ma Sarada, who inspired Swami Vivekananda and the guiding forces behind the Ramkrishna math. The 16th history of Bishnupur - Malla Dynasty was not known to me. Temples have beautiful architecture! The Mela was also nice, for a Probashi it is good to be exposed to the rich Bengali culture! The Mela is very crowded though and can be uncouth.
