We reached Kannur by a Nashik - Bangaluru - Kannur flight by 9.00 pm. It was a pleasant surprise to see the sea so near the property. The stay was very comfortable in the cozy villa by the sea. The pre monsoon wild sea was a sight to be experienced. The food prepared specially for us by the caretaker Mr.Reddy was out of the world. Kannur is a Amazing City and the food is excellent if you like Kerala dishes, it has the best drive in beach but getting in and out is a challenge as the roads leading to the beach is very narrow. Kannur is a place known for historical importance like theyyam, ancient temples with special rituals. Roads are comparatively better. Beach is good but without shower and cloth change facilities. Climate is too hot. Not able to go outside during daytime. Morning and evening outing was enjoyable. Roads are narrow. Railway station is nice but outside station is not attrcative. Angelo Fort is nice historical attraction but no guide. More written information needed outside all buildings. Full of beaches.
Full of beaches. If you are beach lover, then this is the place for you. We missed seeing backwaters and Teyyam but dont miss out if you get opportunity. Teyyam starts from Nov- Feb. So plan accordingly. We have drive-in beach which is super cool to drive, must try. Another challenge was finding the hotel entrance, which is quite hidden and tricky to locate. That said, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was decent.
