Our stay was exceptional, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. The staff was kind, tended to all of our needs, and truly exceeded our standards of hospitality. Mansi (manager) ensured we felt special and welcome. She went out of her way to have us experience the culture of Jaisalmer far beyond our expectations. My son-in-law from new york had a smile on his face the entire trip. Our whole family was very grateful for such a wonderful stay. The breakfast buffet was worth every penny- it was delicious, diverse and authentic. The staff at WYRA (roof top restaurant) was also very hospitable. Inderpreet and his senior manager made us feel at home and made sure we were satisfied with the food. The cultural event that occurs daily from 7-8pm was very entertaining and gave us a chance to experience singing and dancing that incorporated all elements of the region. If you are looking for the best resort in Jaisalmer, JW Marriott will surely meet that standard.

Excellent Ambiance & Service The experience was out of the world. They believe in quality service and it was way beyond our expectations. Travelled with family that included members of 3. Stayed for 3 nights and it almost felt like a home away from home. Every member of the staff out there from the time we stepped into that heavenly place, attended us with inexplicable warmth and took care of all our needs with immense care. Very prompt and committed towards each one who visited there. The tents are exceptionally comfortable with all basics in place. The location of the camp is such that it's a few minutes walk up to the golden sands of Thar Desert, the sand dunes are visible with typical desert vegetation at its fringes. One can view sunrise rise from insides of the tents. The designing of the tents are modern and comfortable..

The Rathore Heritage, Hotel Golden Safari With Swimming Pool and Dev Garh have received great reviews from travellers in Jaisalmer regarding the views from their hotel rooms.
Jaisalmer is a desert town. Very hot weather. Best time to visit is between November and February. The Golden Fort is a living fort. People live in havelis inside the fort. There is a market place in the fort. People are very friendly and helpful. Jaisalmer has small but very good hotels to suit the budget of every traveller. Good hotels are very reasonably priced. About INR 1500/- per night for a double-bed AC room. The charges are quite steep in the months of October and November (during the Deepawali festival season) and in December (during the Christmas and New Year). Desert safaris are available, to experience the desert. Jaisalmer is famous for the sand dunes surrounding it. One should plan an outing in the evening only. A visit to the border (Indo-Pakistan geographical border) is a favourite amongst travellers. There is an old Hindu temple, called as Tanot Mata Temple. It has a historical importance and a favourite tourist destination. It is about 100 km. from Jaisalmer, near the border. Taxis are available. Almost all hotels have their own taxis, for their guests to take them for a desert safari, on a chargeable basis. Hotel Heritage Haveli and its associate Hotel Gaji have their own desert resort, about 35 kms. away.
Visiting Jaisalmer during non-season period [April-September] could mean uncomfortable weather conditions, but cost would be less comparatively. Two days should be enough, one day to cover the city [fort, lake, museum] and preferably last day to cover desert safari, and stay should be arranged for one night stay in city and the next night stay at the desert camp. Transportation [both local by auto/cab and desert only by cab], desert safari items like jeep ride, camel ride, cultural show, dinner should be carefully checked, negotiated through preferably single point operator [this could be the hotelier, or package providers]. Visiting the border is also another item. Finalising these in advance would be helpful.
Jaisalmer is amazing city of rajsthan Here you will see old haveli's , gadisar lake , Golden Fort , I also recommend you to go for desert safari in Sam where you have chance to stay in luxury tent and jeep safari on dunes , camel safari and many more things you will experience here .
Jaisalmer is a short and cute vacay destination of you would want to see the old and raw India. It is a small city with just right enough facilities and a nice learning space. I had my food mostly in the cafe I stayed - Open Road Cafe. They had very comfort foods and I found it very good, because I tend to eat authentic but comfort foods during my travels.
- be careful of upsell for various packages at desert camp and activities - lot of places do not take credit cards - need cash - many shady actors in the tourist business - transportation is an issue
A city is not only made up of buildings and architecture, but also people. They are extremely kind and fight for every tourist because they live in difficult conditions due to the proximity of the desert. Cheaper city than others in Rajasthan. I will visit it again because of the colors and the wonderful yellow sandstone
