Nothing much here in Wayanad.
Nothing much here in Wayanad. The Pookode lake is utter nonsense. It's a small lake and not worth watching if you have been to Ooty/Kodai/Munnar.
The Chembra peak trekking activity is very disappointing. The trekking starts very early, before 7:30AM in the morning. And the won't allow after that. It's difficult to reach on time as the place is around 23 KM from Kalpetta.
The Edakkal caves again is a complete loot. They first collect the parking charges 2 to 3 KMs ahead of, and we had to wait here for 30 mins. Then the parking itself will take another 10 mins as there are several different places of parking, which you need to find out. From there you need to walk a very very steep uphill for 1.5 KMs from the parking slot towards the caves, where you will have to wait another 2 times in between. I had to wait for 15 mins at the front gate, and then after waling for 750 mtrs. at another place where they made us to wait for issuing the tickets. Even for issuing the tickets you need to wait for in a queue for getting a token. We waited here for 35 minutes and the queue didn't move an inch. They won't inform you about all these in the down hill or at the first entrance where they issue parking tickets but make you walk uphill for 750 mtrs. where you will realize the reality. We had to return back from here after frustration, without watching the cave. We reached here at 11:15AM, waited till 1:23PM and left empty handed with disappointment. They don't accept UPI but only cash, something fishy here... may be a scam.

Good place to visit but not in summer holidays. Most places are shut down due to summer or other reasons. Some places like water falls are risky as there are no proper safeguard measures for tourists.
Stay near the Bus Stand to go to important sight seeing spots.

I booked.
I booked. When i reach the location, they contactrd me over phone and told that booking. com is wrongly did the booking and all rooms are occupied, advised to find any other accommodation. Me and family upset and travelled to Vythiri, the nearby town and slept in a bad room. I become upset and face lot of losses on this travel. Advice me furter.

There is nothing to see in Kalpetta.
There is nothing to see in Kalpetta. Good place to enjoy workcation. Places to see are at distance from the Kalpetta City. Veg food options are limited and majority of restaurants serves beef. Climate is okay not too hot not too cold. City is clean and green. Good looking houses are everywhere. People are ready to help even though they don't understand english/hindi that well.

It’s a good place to enjoy activities. Our initial plan was to Munnar, but we changed plans. The day we entered Wayanad, we were unsure if the choice was right. But it was lots of fun with kids and enjoyed the most. Kalpetta is best location to travel in all direction for sight seeing. I am not sure if we explored enough to comment on restaurants but we didn’t manage to see good ones. So we traveled like 4 KM east to find very good restaurant Newform. The food taste is good here.

The homestay was one of the best homestay experiences for us. The property is well maintained with modern amenities and good security for all the inmates. This place is quite near to kalpetta with good connectivity from all directions. Really comfortable for traveller's from both Calicut and Karnataka. We enjoyed the homely food and good care taken by the owner Mr. Tibin. Overalls we had a great outing. Thank you Tibin and staff.

One of the best stay we've ever stayed and the location or scenario is also mesmerizing. Rooms are well maintained and neat to stay with family comfortably as intended. Escpecially the main part is their hospitality and the say they concerns the people who were staying. We'll surely recommend to all people whoever looking for a luxury stay in quiet worthy budget on Wayanad.
