United StatesProperty was easily located. Once inside very clean and comfortable. Many “extra” details noted including charging area, some toiletries. Soft towels. The sofa bed converted easily and was large and comfortable. Would be great as a low key getaway but also a nice home base for a small family. Games, maps and information on area attractions all available. We easily could have done much of our touring from there.

Borgarnes is a small town, very easy to walk around, but enough facilities for a short stay. There is a choice of cafes and restaurants. There is a swimming pool, but we didn't use it.
It was a good location for us to hunt the Northern Lights. Only a short journey was needed to reach areas with dark skies. We were not disappointed.

We only spent 1 night and 1 lunchtime in Borgarnes, so my experience was limited. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more! The walk along the seaside is beautiful and a great way to get around. The pool with its hot tubs is excellent - just go here and skip the pricey spas! The town feels so safe and there are some lovely bakeries and cafes. The Settlement Museum is well worth a visit!

Small uninteresting town. Better to continue on to Reykjavik or stay somewheres before like Bifrost.
We ate at Baza Bistro just down from Hotel Borgarnes. It was great. Food good, very generous serves and friendly staff.

This place was a gem of a find, fantastic scenery, and peaceful. The host was great and the cabin had everything we needed. The town is just fifteen minutes away for groceries etc. A bonus are the farmers dogs who come into the cabin deck and want to play or just have their tummy tickled. There is no tv, in such a wonderful location why would you need one.

all the basic facilities, grocery store, nice french fusion restaurant in one of the hotels in town. starting point to major outdoor points (e.g. Snaefellsness national park, points north and inland). A good base for multiple day trips north and inland. Close to Glymur , highest waterfall in iceland (summer only, no river crossing in winter!)

The city is the historical center of some of the early settlers so it was interesting to explore. It has a number of good restaurants and plenty of other amenities like gas stations. It's a beautiful setting just across the fiord from the southern part of Iceland.

This place is spectacular. From the location to the facilities and staff everything was luxury. I made a mistake with my Icelandic, got the word for anniversary wrong and mentioned honeymoon instead - was greeted with a very nice detail from the staff. The two nights here were amazing, the room was spacious with a great view, breakfast was plentiful and could even use the outdoors hot tub which uses hot spring water. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and wish I come back many more times. Thanks for everything!!

Fjola and Jon were outstanding hosts. Our apartment on their farm was a haven for our stay near Borgarnes. Views of the surrounding fields were great, and such a nice change from city hotels. The apartment had everything we needed, including a filter coffee maker. The weather turned overnight, and roads were closed the next morning. Fjola kindly informed us of this and offered that we could stay longer, which was very generous.

While this hotel is on the other side of the bridge at Borgarnes it is a lovely location and well worth the stop off. The rooms are quite small but clean and as you are only sleeping after a long day driving size is immaterial. It is very cosy and a real bonus is the hot tub and sauna access for guests. Breakfast is included and is a nice selection on cereals and cold foods with warm drinks available all day,

Large rooms with a spacious bathroom. Comfortable, well appointed with great views over shoreline. This is also a full service hotel: bar, restaurant and spa (check the website for all details).
