Hotel Dalvík is on the Eyjafjörður Fjord, 1969 feet from the geothermal swimming pool and 35 minutes’ drive from Akureyri. It offers views of Tröllaskagi Mountain. Hamar Golf Course is 2.5 mi away. The couple at the reception were kind, and very helpful. They answered all my questions and recommended good restaurants. Coffee and tea are available all the time.
Höfði Cottages has river views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Dalvík. No breakfast. Cottage had a private hot tub that was really nice. The setting/location was ideal (close to Dalvik in a really pleasant, serene area). Spacious and well-equipped, this was one of the best places we stayed in Iceland.
Located in the center of Dalvík, across from the harbor, this family-run hostel is 28 mi from Akureyri. It offers free Wi-Fi, a communal kitchen and individually decorated rooms. The host is probably one of the few locals who know how to smile and is familiar with the concept of humour, and we got some nice recommendations for the upcoming days. So staying here was definitely a good decision. Also make sure to visit the family's cafe as they serve great fish soup. The accomodation itself is a funny little house in the town which has everything you need to get some sleep.
Overlooking the mountains of Tröllaskagi Peninsula, these cottages include a kitchenette, private terrace and free WiFi access. Dalvik Public Swimming Pool is 656 feet away. Lovely old cottage. Hot tap is fantastic. Owner great, tells you all interesting stories, shows around. Highly recommend.
Located in Hrísey, Syðstibær Guesthouse has a garden. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Spectacular location on Hrísey Island. Very comfortable rooms. Yudith and Oskar are the best hosts, and we were given lots of edible goodies and coffee etc. Hope to return again! Many thanks.
Offering free WiFi and river views, Sky sighting Iglúhús - Stay'in Árbakki is a property located in Litli-Árskógssandur. Really really cool experience. This is one of those places where the host puts a lot of thought into the living space of the guest. Amazing views.
These Northern Iceland wooden bungalows are 50 minutes’ drive from Akureyri. Each has a private terrace with an outdoor hot tub and mountain views of the Tröllaskagi Peninsula. The simple wooden cabin was such a charm. Best experience/exactly what we were looking for. the hot tub was a wonderful addition.
Absolutely love Dalvik. Such a beautiful little town. Lovely friendly, helpful, caring people. Snow capped mountains, deep blue sea, clear blue sky, lush green grass. Would love to return for longer! The water in Iceland is so pure! Love the horses, sheep, birds ... everything! Love Iceland!! ... Never knew there was Skydiving in Dalvik! Would love to have a dive there! Next time!
The host is phenomenal. The host is very friendly, outgoing, and a very hard worker. The location is a great jumping off spot to catch the ferry to Grimsey, or to go deeper into the north region of Iceland.
The location of Hofdi Cottages is excellent. There is a lot to do in the area with Dalvik just around the corner. Walk outside and you're in the middle of nature. The hot tub outside makes great to watch the starry sky and look out for Northern Lights in wintertime. We stayed at the Har Cottage and it is very comfortable with a huge couch. We could use the sauna by the Elsti cottage which made our stay even more perfect!
the hosts were wonderful and a true pleasure to talk with. Make sure to have a least one dinner at their cafe in Dalvik, a short walk. Best fish stew.soup I have ever had. Very considerate people
Hotel Dalvik was our base for the one-day trip to the Grímsey island. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's possible to buy a bottle of beer at the reception.
Excellent place in Dalvik, don't miss the local bar owned by the same people from the hotel.
