We arrived 2hours before check in time and they got the room ready for us. We were greeted with a bottle of prosecco and they even prepared a takeaway breakfast as we were leaving at 5 am. The bed was very comfortable and so was the sofa bed.

United StatesLoved this house! The husband and wife are super nice and fun to chat with. Right next to a playground and a grocery store. Plenty of dining choices nearby, as well as the blue lagoon. The woodwork was done by the owner, who has a shop downstairs, and they even put some drinks and chocolates in the fridge.

This town has been largely emptied of people since the volcano eruption there. There were two restaurants in the town that were still working and we tried one which was good. Staying here is good for an early morning next day flight from the airport, because most hotels near the airport are overpriced.

Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon.
Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland going straight from the airport to the Blue lagoon then checked in.
Not a lot here but there’s a pretty church here
Tip: don’t buy supplies in the airport shop - we stocked up & it cost us a fortune. There’s a Netto in Grindavík

Grindavik is a small, beautiful fishing village close to the Geldingadalur volcano (but not too close) and the Blue Lagoon. It has many excellent hiking opportunities and great restaurants. Grindavik is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Whale-watching, fishing, mountaineering, very friendly people, safe environment, you name it, Grindavik has it all!

Great location for Meradalir.
Great location for Meradalir. Fabulous fish and chips at Papas - Grindavik is a fishing town, so all fish is fresh that morning. Lovely walking around the town. Very peaceful. Great for exploring south coast and peninsula. Only 25 mins from Keflavik.

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. It is not touristy though so don’t expect lots of shops selling the usual.

This is a dock terminal terrible views, bad aspect for tourists, cabin super smaill no microwave, no waste basket in bathroom, nothing to sweep with, place is creepy, huge caping yard nezt to the property that makes it seem dangerous. Lonely area! For this price you can get a top notch place.

Staff were fantastic and went the extra mile, picking us up from the Blue Lagoon with our luggage outside of the shuttle schedule. The hotel is lovely with great facilities and really appreciated the honesty bar and free waffles.
The location is perfect, just a short picturesque walk to the Blue Lagoon and surrounded by stunning scenery and hikes.
Mac's restaurant is superb and the views from the tables are amazing.
Lastly we had Avery warm welcome, felt completely at home and enjoyed the experience immensely.

The property is amazing, located in the quiet town of Grindavík. There’s restaurants which served the most delicious fish, the cod is unreal! The place is beautiful, first floor is a bedroom with 2 singles and a nice size bathroom. The second floor is a double with a toilet and the 3rd floor is the family/living/kitchen area which has amazing views. Saying that all floors have amazing views! This property is cool and is located well if you really want to SEE Iceland! 15 minutes from the Blue Lagoon!

We were visiting the blue lagoon in the afternoon and flying early the next day, so it made sense to stay at a nearby hotel over the night. Both the blue lagoon and the airport were relatively near the hotel which was very practical.
There was a volcano eruption 2 years ago so the town was abandoned. It feels like a ghost town with kms of cooled lava around it which is interesting.
In general, I see this hotel more of a stop-over hotel rather than a feel good hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was very good, and the location is great – close to the Blue Lagoon and the airport. Our room had a coffee machine, and we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary prosecco and fruit on arrival. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and it was nice to have a bar at the hotel as well.
