EgyptWe booked one transit night with late check in and very early check out, so airport proximity was a must. It's a taxi drive away (15 minutes) but it's so well located that we walked a few meters down the road to a 24/7 super market and were able to grab dinner despite the late hour.

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history. It's super close to the Blue lagoon and volcano so, there are many options for hiking or relaxing. There's a grill place with a super nice man who told me a little about the history and life of Grindavik's people and he also sells awesome hotdogs. The town itself is very quiet as a result, and has an errie feel that we loved. There was plenty of parking. The house is split into several rooms with excellent facilities. There's a big communcal living room and kitchen, as well as plenty of designated space in the fridge. We met the host who was friendly and welcoming, setting the tone for all guests that are there.
