Featuring a garden and a terrace, Hvammstangi Hill Homes has accommodations in Hvammstangi with free WiFi and sea views. It was modern, clean and comfortable. Warm and nice bathroom. Dark and saw the northern lights. Beautiful! Great restaurant on the harbor that was recommended to us by the host.
Located in Hvammstangi, Guesthouse 46 provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a shared lounge and a terrace. We were unfortunately late checking in, and the owner had to get up to let us in. We felt TERRIBLE, but had no choice but to call them. We were so grateful he came down. Thank you!!! The guesthouse was lovely!!! The Northern Lights were very active that night (early March), and we could literally see them from our comfy beds in the room through the giant windows overlooking the bay!!!!! Breakfast was delicious, with many options. The owners were sweet and wonderful, and have cute dogs!! Make sure you pay on-site, the online reservation is just to hold the room. They mentioned many people didn't know that and left without paying unintentionally. Would def recommend this place, one of our faves on the trip. The view was the best :)
Located in Hvammstangi, this apartment features free WiFi. Guests have access to a large garden with panoramic views. Guests can walk around the farm's surrounding and admire the nature and animals. A great little house with a well stocked kitchen and great view.
This property offers wooden cottages in Hvammstangi, 4.3 mi from Iceland's Ring Road. Free WiFi, flat-screen TVs and a kitchenette are featured in each cottage. Very cosy and comfortable in the middle of the nature. Included all basics to cook and prepare food.
Located in the town of Hvammstangi by Mid Fjord, this north-western Iceland property is 3.7 mi from the Ring Road. It provides free Wi-Fi and a large furnished terrace with fjord views. Everything else! Super comfy twin beds, awesome lounge with a big tv, very nice kitchen, a coffee and tea machine. They give you free tickets to the town pool even! Fantastic, comfy place with a young atmosphere!
This renovated 1930s farmhouse is next to Lake Midfjardarvatn. It offers a fully equipped guest kitchen. Hvammstangi village is within 10 minutes’ drive. A wonderful night in a container, warm, very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the tea with sunshine at the front patio very much. Nice view at the rear window as well. Breakfast at the owner's house was excellent with waffles, fresh fruit, cold cut meat and homemade jam, value for money!
Located in Hvammstangi, Laugarbakki has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. A vegan breakfast is available every morning at the family stay. Lovely lady, we booked three rooms but she even gave us her room so that we could all have our own rooms! Great vibe and very homely place.
Hill Homes were great! The owner came within minutes of us requesting more towels and the guest home itself was BRAND NEW. The kitchen was fully stocked with enough utensils and cooking supplies and the bathroom was very modern. The Wifi was a small adapter but worked really well for all 4 of us. There was a TV in the place as well but you need an HDMI to connect to it. I think they will probably have working cable soon. Would DEFINITELY stay there again as the view was up on a hill overlooking the ocean and mountains.
This was a short trip. I would have liked to drive the peninsula so I would recommend adding enough time to do so. It’s about 90 km I believe. You’ll see seals and the elephant shaped rock formation.
Small town in the north of Iceland. Quiet, picturesque, large seal population and interesting seal museum. Only a few restaurants or places to stay. We came to see the Northern Lights in January and we where not disappointed. It was the only clear night we had in an 8 day visit to the Island.
Hvammstangi is a small town located on the west shore of Vatsness peninsula. A good location for seal watching or exploring the Vatsness peninsula with your own four wheels. The town is not too busy, but still all facilities a traveller needs are available. I just stayed one night there to break a long car drive to Snafellsnes area. If you opt for a chilled place with some leisure options I do think spending 2 or 3 nights is nothing wrong :-)
Hvammstangi is a quiet town on a beautiful fjord. The major tourism attraction is seal-watching. We took a 1/2 hour drive and then a short hike to view the seal colony. The seals were at some distance, but the setting was quite beautiful.
We stayed one night at Hvammstangi to break the journey between Akureyri and Kevlavik airport. We didn't have time to visit the seal centre, but we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant above it - stylish with good views and burgers.

The rooms at this hotel have been recently renovated and are clean and a good value. There are two common rooms with comfortable seating and a coffee machine. Breakfast is very good. The owner is gracious and accommodating. We drove around the peninsula, enjoying the horses and the Hvitserkur rock formation. We did not see any seals, as the weather was very windy and rainy, and apparently the seals are out to sea in conditions like these. We ate an absolutely delicious dinner of seafood soup at Geitafell, about 20 minutes north of town.

It was a lovely guesthouse facing the ocean. A dreamy place to experience living in a home with snow all around the house and facing the ocean granted with a clear sky. It was here that we could see the aurora and so many stars in the sky. The owners were very nice and gave us a bottle fresh cow milk from their farm. The house was very well equipped with everything you need. The house itself had a history of its own.

We loved the peace and quiet of the guesthouse, surrounded only by nature...and horses....the room was pretty big in comparison to the others we experienced and had all comforts. Our host was so nice with us, we just felt like home. I advise ask having breakfast at the host’s house: the homemade products were absolutely deliciuos!

Our apartment was spotless, cozy, bright, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay! It was a breeze checking in via the lockbox, we loved being able to walk a few blocks to dinner, and best of all, this apartment was one of the best values we found in all of Iceland. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great value for money. There were three of us in our group and we had a whole cottage to us, for the same price we paid for three beds in a six-bed shared room in other places in Iceland. Great buffet breakfast.
