Found by bubbling geothermal springs in Hveragerdi, this hotel offers an outdoor pool and 2 hot tubs and sauna. All rooms include bathrobes, slippers and a 32-inch flat-screen TV. Wi-Fi is free. The fact that not only did staff go out of their way to accommodate my needs, as I was a late arrival. (not recommended) as it’s rude. but at 11:30pm a cat directed me where to go as the water amenities were due to close! best night ever in Kiev-agetti

It is a nice town with many interesting small restaurants and cafeterias. It has more trees than most of Iceland and can therefore be less windy. They also have nice short walking paths around the town that have very nice scenery.
Small clean residential town with a restaurant for meals during the day and a nice grocery store open till 8pm. I wouldn't say Hveragerdi is a destination; more like a really nice stop along the way. If you arrive in KEF at 9am and you're headed south east, this a nice stop to recover from the long flight from the US. Visit a little horse ranch north of town to see the frolicking foals. Stay at the INNI boutique apartments. You will be happy.
Hverageroi is a small fairly non-descript town and not in any way scenic in itself, though surrounding countryside is. There are essential shops, petrol station etc. However, it is a reasonable base for the Golden Circle and the southwest coast of Iceland. It is a very quiet place. It is situated in a geo-thermal area with a small geo-thermal park in the centre. Just outside of town there is a a trail that leads to a geothermal bathing area. The trail is about 4km long and steep in places, but manageable in less than an hour. Scenery on the way is lovely with lots of hot springs and steam vents. Be prepared to change in the open if you fancy a dip in the water - there are no changing rooms - though there are screens that you can change behind but don't give total privacy.
Lovely location..took us an hour to drive to golden circle / hour and a bit down to vik and south coast / just over an hour to rejyavik and the airport. Well located and in the middle of the key sights for that part of Iceland. Had good shops / food options / petrol garage / bakery with good opening times for all. We ate in the greenhouse food hall twice and at the local pizza place (which make their own beer too). All the food places had good vegan options and also everyone spoke good English and had a good understanding of dietary requirements. Pretty location and quiet . We didn't get a chance to go much out the town but there are a few tourist attractions as the site is geothermal and has alot going for it (Inc hot spring hike). Close to selfoss which is a larger town and has alot of shops and restaurants too. On route one , one of the key routes of Iceland.
Beautiful cosy cabin a good distance away from others so we felt completely secluded. Fabulous views from the balcony. Everything we could ask for was provided (although, being British, we did go out and buy bigger tea & coffee cups) . The hot tub was a great addition, right next to the back door so we didn't need to brave the cold for too long before hopping in the shower. The cabin was much warmer than we expected - in fact we had to open windows at night (in February) to keep from overheating! This would have been the perfect spot to see the Northern lights had they made an appearance. Sadly the weather was too cloudy during our 2 night stay. WiFi worked well. From here, we were able to drive to the breathtaking Gulfoss Waterfall, Strokkur Guysir and Þingvellir National Park. All do-able in 2 days proving the weather behaves!
Beautiful town and so much more there than we knew about! The hot river hike up in the mountains at the back of the town was simply beautiful. So glad we found this place. Great location for ease of access to main road routes and golden circle.
Hveragerði
The apartment was very clean with contemporary decor, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and washing machine, and modern amenities, including a nice shower, coffee maker, ample refrigerator and microwave. Staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the Scandinavian restaurant downstairs, which is owned by the same owner of the apartment, is excellent with great flavor, presentation and value. We highly recommend Matkrain Apartmemts in Hveragerdi!
Hveragerði
The vacation cabin was located just outside Hveragerði. It was well furnished and comfortable. There was a private hot pot on the deck and we were amazed by the wonderfully bright stars. Unfortunately the Northern Lights did not show themselves but we enjoyed our stay. Our son wanted to spend another night in his comfy loft. The hosts knit handmade hats and sweaters on the premises.

Loved Inni Apartments! Our favorite place we stayed in Iceland. Apartments were spacious and well decorated, had a cute kitchen, comfy bed and nice water pressure in the shower. Free parking right there too. We didn't use it but there was a hot tub. Also very clean! It's also in a very small and cute town, walkable to a great food hall at one of the hotels nearby.
Hveragerði
The self check in process was seamless. When the specific room type we were looking for was not available, the hotel owner even offered for us to receive complimentary breakfast at a nearby hotel to make up the difference. She's absolutely a joy to work with!
The room was rather small for four adults, but was nicely appointed. The hotel employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was large and had a beautiful view of the water, and the breakfast was very good.
Hveragerði
There is a towel/rope drier! It's usually forgotten / not invented in hotels. It seems warm floors softly regulate temperature. There is a shared washing machine & kitchen. Very friendly owners!
I liked that there is a pool at the Hotel. The play room is also a very good idea. Very clean rooms. A room for a family of 5 was delightful. All in all a pleasant stay.
It is beautiful hotel that inspired by new things, design and details.
