Probably one of the best places I have ever been too. Reykjavik itself is a great place to vist. Compact enough to walk around with a great atmosphere. Plenty of food choices and lots to see and do. Do the 'free walking tour' for great information and to visit parts of the city you may not normally get to. Outside of Reykjarvik the countryside is just stunning. You must do the Golden Circle including Thingvellir National Park, Geysir, Gullfoss and if you hire a car also go to Kerid Crater. Also the Blue Lagoon is a must. The town centre was easy to get around with plenty of shops and eating places. Everything comes at a price there is nothing for free to do and even a coffee and a delicious bun will set you back about £15 A round of 4 drinks - 2 soft drinks and two beers £34 An average meal out for 4 people with a round of drinks £200 As long as you go prepared you will enjoy exploring this dramatic landscape again be prepared for the cost of doing so. Booked a bus excursion to see krater, hot spring, national park, Perlan. Was great way to site-see and rest enroute. My kids loved the lava show and still talk about it a month+ later. Iceland is pretty expensive, so look into food options and excursions when you are planning your trip. We spent >$60 CAD for a 4 ice cream cones at Perlan, for example. We loved the Norther Lights tour, we were very lucky and saw them on the first attempt. We also loved the Flyover Iceland experience, that was one of my favourites, as soon as it ended, I wanted to queue to do it again! the Wonders of the South Coast tour, The Lava Tunnel tour, the Golden Circle and the Sky Lagoon was also a fabulous experience. We also went to Perlan and the Iceland National Museum. Crazy not to add this to your next adventure. We’re thinking about just making a trip for this country in the future. I don’t remember the name of cafe but it was a ten out of ten. And fish and chips brought it home for dinner. Certainly the whale watching was unbelievable, i mean a must do. And sky lagoon was priceless, really 5 star place.Guest review byJeff
