This is a MUST stay place if you have a car and you are planning to stay near Selfoss and Thingvellir Park! Place is totally lovely, as the staff there is! Special kudos to Agatha and Ásta! We had a need to change the room and it was sorted out fast and with complimentary attention - thank you!! Oh!     We stayed in a cottage several km from Selfoss, but went into Selfoss to eat and do grocery shopping etc. The town was fine, but it's not a tourist attraction. The country itself is the attraction, and it is amazing. Selfoss is perfectly located to explore it all.

    We loved everything in Selfoss.

    We loved everything in Selfoss. It was a great decision pin this city for our accommodation. Not too far from either ways to reach the airport/Reykjavik or the most famous sightseeings. It was actually a better experience in comparison to Reykjavik. Somehow the main city felt to us so ordinary but Selfoss is a calmful and beautiful little city with full of helpful and smiley local people and amazing food and crafted beers. Special highlight for the Rösti Burgers, Fish of the days/Fish n chips and the Viking Beers. The crafted beers were sooo tasty and fresh which I just experienced in beer museums before. Bonus that the beach is just 10 min away by drive which was a great spot to chase the Northern Light.

    Selfoss was a great location for us as we toured the southwestern coastal area and Thingvellir National Park. The 'New Old Town' is a wonderful destination while staying in Selfoss--great food choices, as well as a pub and a coffeeshop.

    I read a lot of bad press about Selfoss online, as you enter some of the commercial buildings are off-putting, but underneath is a beautiful village with a river, woods, perfect central location to complete all icelandic activities. The restaurant and food options have everything from fast food to fine dining. I have literally no idea why anyone would say something bad about it.

    The house is amazing and much better than the description. Its warm and has a lovely lounge dinner. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, hair dryer and toiletries in the bathrooms. Loads of space for the 6 of us. The kitchen is well fitted out which is great as we cooked every night as you are not close to any restaurants. We had a problem with the hot tub and our host came over and sorted it out so we used it every night, amazing!!! The location is stunning and we saw the northern lights.

    We loved our room looking out over the rushing river. Very peaceful at night with a very comfy bed and pillows. Lighting in the room was great. So many hotels — even the expensive ones— are so poorly lit you cannot see in the bathroom mirrors or the sleeping area. The breakfast offered good options and the front desk was extremely kind to offer us a brown bag breakfast the morning we had to leave super early before the restaurant opened. Great restaurant just across the street called Krisp.

    after days amid nothing entering a town is a little shock of its own and automatic self checking it's a facility as long as it works otherwise it's another little problem ones have to solve before get in and relax our room, clean and spacious was facing the main road of sellfoss (as all the odd) and so noisy till late in the evening yet the coffee machine is welcomed parking is free just at the entrance and plenty of restaurants in the neightborhood

    A pleasant hotel in a good location to stay for a night during our touring trip. Modern, clean and comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff and a decent selection of food for breakfast. We enjoyed it. Free parking in the car park(which was full when we arrived), and on the road at the front. An easy walk to see the river and the interestingly renovated town centre. We ate at nearby Tryggvaskali Restaurant on the evening. It was superb!

    Beautiful, clean and spacious hotel. Fantastic breakfast, especially loved the homemade rhubarb jam. Great location. Lovely staff. The 24 hour check in process was really easy. The hot tub and sauna were incredible and really made our stay so special. Highly recommend! Would love to stay here again.
