One wakes up to the site of snow covered mountain tops and their reflection in the fjord. The room has all necessities, and there is a fully equipped kitchen with snacks for purchase at any time of the day. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant is superb.

SwedenIceland in the winter is, in a word, an experience. Accommodations and amenities are limited due to it being the "off-season" While breakfast was not included, Sigrid was able to arrange something in the town which was amazing. We also had a storm come over night and she helped with making sure that we could get out and was also concerned that we would make it over the pass. We messaged back and forth to let her know that all was good. I cannot speak more highly of her kindness, hospitality, and caring nature.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.
This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.Guest review byzevCanada
