Overlooking Snæfellsnes Glacier and Breidafjördur Bay, this converted farmhouse enjoys a peaceful, remote setting along Iceland’s north-western coast. What I loved the most about this place was absolute silence and relax. The hotel is located away from the city so that's a pefect relax for someone who wants to take rest from the crowd, rush and traffic in the big city. This place is complete opposite. The only sound I was able to hear was nature. When I was going out of my room I could hear the waterfall and birds. The views from the hotel to the mountains, sky, ocean and fields are priceless, breathtaking. Especially the sunset. The hotel offers a good range of facilities - my favourite one was jacuzzi located outside (with incredible view) and also sauna. There is a big dinning area in the hotel with very comfy sofas where you can relax and look at the views as well! The room was really clean, big and my bed was super comfy! The breakfast is worth the price - the food given was freshly prepared and I believe the staff put lots of effort to this as the table was full of goods of different kinds, and it was nicely presentable as well. The dinner was good as well - sweet potato soup and the lamb was delitious, the portions are big enough. It was the best time stay I ever had, the pefect location does a lot of job. The best landscapes I've ever photographed were here. Perfect paradise for photographers like me! I absolutely fell in love with this place and I definately want to come back in the future! 10/10 !

Thank you Lara (and husband) for building your beautiful 2 little cottages. Small cottages with lounge (fold out which our 14 year old slept on) nice kitchen bench, bathroom. Peace and tranquility for 2 nights. Saw our first Northern lights here. The breakfast supplies (our only cottage in our 21 days around Iceland to provide) were amazing. Loads of goodies! Lovely place to recommend. ps. for Australians going here, Lara's daughter would love some more 'Cherry Ripes'!
Nice little place. We went there straight from keflavik airport. It was a bit of a drive but well worth the effort. Very scenic but then again...all of Iceland is pretty scenic! We went to the local pool and had a pizza (yummy) and walked around town. The next day we drove around the peninsula. The restaurants seemed to close early though.
Tiny place with typical Iceland coastline - great bird life - and upmarket accommodation and dining options. Be prepared to drive on gravel roads if you want to explore the local area. Ferries and boat trips available.
Very quaint and cute town. An excellent base to explore the Snaefells Penninsula. Not much to do in town except for boating tours and a few restaurants. But an excellent base to explore the region with everything you need.
Quaint little town with friendly people. Best accessed by vehicle. Lots of hikes and areas to site see around the area. Accommodation an restaurants are limited. The food at all three places we tried was superb. Well worth travelling too while touring the snaefellsnes peninsula.
One of my favorite small towns in Iceland. I've been there twice, and it's great. Great jumping off point for the rest of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, and also the ferry to the Westfjords, which I also recommend.

Heimir is an amazing host - always here to tell us about Stykkisholmur, about his native village and Iceland in general. He played some music too, which was very cosy. The place is typically Icelandic, packed with authentic stuff from his life - it only gives more life to the house ! We slept very well and the kitchen and bathroom were more than enough. If you want to speak with a local, this is your destination !

A boutique hotel in the true sense of the word, small, kept, charming, and with a lot of character. The room was tiny, but lovely and the bar was a great place to hang out after a long day of discovering the peninsula.
