The check in was easy with a keypad to each room. Free parking. The room was spotless and comfortable. The location was great - right in the middle of all Stykkisholmur has to offer. It's definitely worth a visit when exploring the West Coast. Finally, the breakfast was delicious and set us up well for a day of exploring.

The hike to the island is very nice, we did it at 11pm after our dinner. You have to visit the church. We loved this village and his traditional houses. We eat very well at Sjávarpakkhúsið restaurant.

Slightly quirky, remote town, with an interesting harbour. A few good places to eat/drink, and plenty to see and do around the surrounding peninsula - national park, hiking volcanoes, whale-watching, and even trying fermented shark. Pretty, colourful houses in town make it a relaxing place to stay too.

Ended up being out of our way on our trip on the ring road due to weather and a change in what we decided to do. Very cute little town with a delicious bakery. Didn't see much of the town really.

Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels...

Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. But we did have excellent takeaway fish and chips from the harbour front at Hafnarvaginn

Fabulous history as a former convention, overlooking the sea and the harbour, a short 2 minute walk from the hotel. We stayed three nights (having flown from Australia we needed an extra night to recuperate) and Diana was extremely welcoming. And we had a sensational corner room that overlooked both the sea and the harbour from big picture windows. It was a great base for exploring the Snaef!

Probably the coziest hotel we have ever visited. As soon as we entered all our senses were positively affected(e.g very nice design, the smell of home made bread being baked for breakfast, nice soft music etc). Very comfortable bed and all details in the room were carefully thought with great taste. The stuff was extremely polite and helpful. The best breakfast we had in Iceland.
