NetherlandsWe slept 2 nights. The fact that in the middle of the day the owner remade our beds and cleaned the room made me so happy!!!. It wasn't needed at all but the surprise of coming back in a clean room with fresh beds was so nice!!!!! Really thank you so much if I'm ever going to Iceland again I'm sure to stay here! Thank you so much for the hospitality.

HungaryOur one-night stay included breakfast, and we got to stay at a beautiful 2-person cottage. Despite the cold weather outside, the cottage was very cozy and warm. The view from the windows is absolutely amazing and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and there was no abundance of food to choose from. The staff was very kind and helpful.

United StatesLocation was beautiful and quiet, perfect for my first night in Iceland after a long flight. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in while traveling. Beautifully decorated, felt like home. The massive outdoor garden porch space was covered, protected from elements, thought I was lucky with sunny weather. I wish I could have spent more time in this area. Kitchen was more than fully stocked, plenty of space and very clean. Wonderful hosts.

FranceOur room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the evening. We also took a little time to meet all the animals and enjoy the farm. The location was also great, a quick drive to Selfoss with groceries, restaurants and anything you would need but also enjoy the countryside at the same time. The staff at breakfast was also helpful with giving advice about our plans for the day.

United StatesWe loved our stay! We are a family of five (with three children ages 18, 16 and 12). We stayed in the apartment above the goat barn. The apartment was cozy and quiet. All of us found the beds to be very comfortable. Compared to staying in a hotel where we are split up across two unattached rooms, Skalatjorn Guesthouse was one of our favorites places we stayed in Iceland! And the goats!!! Several baby goats had just been born the week before, and they could not have been cuter. Given that Icelandic goats are endangered, it was great to help support Helena and Stefan’s efforts to breed these animals to increase their population.
