We absolutely loved the owners and their hotel, which used to be a local school. very comfortable and large room, nice view on the ocean, great breakfast and super service! We took the excursion organised by Johann the owner: Ice Cave discovery - the experience was surreal and so well organized. Johann is a great storyteller and knows his country so well!

Awesome location, with amazing views to wake up to! Staff were super friendly and the facilities were just perfect!
The location of accommodation is great to see northern lights. Because there was not too many lights and closed sea side therefore, you can see the northern lights, if the weather is really clear. :) And also you can go to vik center by driving for 15 mins.
I think someone needs to help you with these Iceland reviews - none of these places are what we could call "towns." They are usually a few houses, maybe a few farms. Vestri Petursey is just an area with some houses that are near to one of the main sights in the area. There are no services here, but you're close to Vik. If you're coming for the night from the Golden Circle, STOP in Selfoss or Hvalfoss to get supplies! There is grocery store in Vik, but the stores don't open until 10 or 11:00 am, and they usually close at 7:00 pm.
Great location! Property owners were nice and accommodating. Cabin was comfortable and clean. Only complaint was we had to rent a blanket and towel as traveling with them was more luggage. We knew we could as it was advertised that they did not come with the cabin but were available to rent. I figured it couldn't be too bad. Maybe for some, its not. But 20 euro for 1 blanket and 1 towel is ridiculous!!! According to booking the cabin was 140 euro and was charged 180 euro for rental and 2 blankets and 2 towels! Seems high
Gorgeous location, right near the beach and super close to Vik. The cabin was immaculate and the hosts were incredibly sweet and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough, wish we could have stayed longer!
The place is quite remote which was exactly what we wanted. Took a bit of time to find the owners to get the key and it's a shame you have to pay extra for bedding. Not many people would have bedding flying into Iceland. But that seems normal here. The place was very clean and the views are stunning. Great opportunity to see the northern lights and a good base for exploring the south of the island. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable base to explore further afield.
We absolutely loved stopping here. Everything was truly perfect, the host was very helpful, it was very close to the ring road we and had everything we needed and more. We would definatly go back to this accommodation again!!! And would definatly recommend!
