The host Marco not only helped me find an excellent restaurant but also drove his car ahead of mine to lead me there (2kms from the hotel) to be sure I found it before they closed. If you are not familiar with rural European roads you will find this trip a little challenging due to the tight corners and small roadways. Brilliant for those who enjoy smaller villages and the beautiful vineyards. Many cyclists & tourists came through the village. Our favourite places for meals were Cassine, Acqui Terme, Asti & Alba. Alice is a cute, small village on too of a hill in Monferrato. It is quiet, but not boring. In the bar and the restaurant in the main square you will always find people enjoying the fresh air and relaxing. It is a good location to visit the area around, Monferrato and Langhe. The village sits on a high point in the foothill region. The view from my room and especially from the glass-sided breakfast hall was stunning. Directly across from the hotel is a spectacular lookout point that is a 2 minute climb up stairs with handrails. The unobstructed 360Degree view is breathtaking.
