We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover...
We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle...
Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning. Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin. It's like the setting of a Wes Anderson movie ...colourful house, garden and very friendly hosts. Luca and Melissa are super friendly and accomodating. Villa Le Vignole is located in a superb setting. The view of the Lake of Orta is magnificent. Nice and friendly dining paces are very close to the property. If you love Art do not miss the Fondazione Antonio and Carmela Calderara a few hundred meters from Villa Le Vignole. It's a place full of incredible art pieces.
