Almost only Italians are in Bacoli, very few international...
Almost only Italians are in Bacoli, very few international tourists, which makes it a special experience. You can just relax and enjoy the sea at several beaches, many of which are free, like Spiaggia del Poggio and Lido Schiacchetiello. There's quite a large supermarket on Via Roma with lots of nice local cheese, meat and fruits & veggies. Everything within Bacoli is walking distance. We used public transport to get there and around, EAV buses run mostly on schedule to reach for instance, Pozzuoli. Pozzuoli may be a better choice to stay if you want to discover the Roman ruins and the islands. There are some things to see and do in Bacoli as well, like visiting the Castle with amazing Roman sculptures and the Piscina Mirabilis is also interesting to see.Guest review byBarbaraHungary - 10.0

Beautiful coastal area just a few kms. from Pozzuoli and easy to get to from Naples if you have a car. There is a train line but only seemed to be a few trains a day, and not sure about bus transport. A car for this area is essential to get the most out of it. We went out and about every day exploring the area, which has some wonderful archaeological sites, some dating back to ancient Greek settlements, that are little-known outside of Italy. The breakfast, served on a terrace with care by our kind and welcoming Italian host Enrica, was amazing. The location is just perfect, offering a beautiful view of the lago miseno, with the beach just a 5-minute walk away and shops very nearby. There are many restaurants and bars in the area.
