Fantastic location. Good value. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Quiet historic building near the bottom of the famous stairs. Lovely people. Good breakfast, adapted for a vegetarian. Good tips on where to eat. Vanessa and Anna are treasures. They helped with transport when I was stranded courtesy of Trenitalia who were running buses due to track work, but....the bus never showed up. Sicily has its challenges so good help can be invaluable. I recommend.

Clean, comfortable room with a balcony and fantastic view of the countryside. The staff was very polite and helpful. The pool looked inviting but the weather was cool so we did not try to swim. It was a very quiet atmosphere and hotel did not seem to be fully booked.

Scala steps okay but better seen when decorated. Official followed us around the old gaol, very intimidating! Did they think we were going to damage something? Reasonable buses around town, but very poor getting away. We were given false information about the bus to leave, others didn't arrive. Had to get an expensive taxi. Officials/drivers could not care less.

Positives: - beautiful old town

Positives: - beautiful old town - fantastic location on a hill with great views - beautifully designed park with pretty ceramic decorations on its fence - lots of shops with magnificent traditional hand-crafted china Negatives: - very few bus connections - e.g. the only buses to Enna are at 4.00 and 6.00 AM! - train connections suspended (temporarily?) - limited number of restaurants + mostly standard Italian dishes, nothing specifically from the region or Caltagirone - Caltagirone is famous for its china, however, both museums with modern and antique china collections are closed; what's more, nobody has any information about this fact and they still give you directions to these museums!!! - tourist information office exists but it's definitely closed on Saturdays and Sundays (avoid weekends when planning your visit there!) and there's nowhere you can get information about the attractions in the town or even a simple map!! - everything is closed on Sundays except some shops with china; even some restaurants close after 3.00PM!!

Beautiful architecture and use of ceramics.

Beautiful architecture and use of ceramics. (The 142 stairs of Santa Maria del Monte are stunning - climb if you can!.) Second biggest park in Italy (I was told) – a great spot for relaxing and watching the world go by. City free of fake souvenirs and not crowded. Fascinating place for wandering the back streets. Helpful residents - great food. My favourite place in Sicily so far!

The staff were great especially the pool boy! Great vibe. I think if the place would be more invested in, it would be beautiful. I would stay there again IF i had to, rooms were clean and cleanliness is key, however, they were a bit run down. Wouldnt shut it off, but would contemplate.

This is a beautiful city.

This is a beautiful city. I wish that I could have seen it on a weekend that was not the easter weekend though. The easter procession was amazing however the day after that was extremely quiet and it was very hard to find places to eat. I know this is totally to be expected and we still had a lovely time wandering the streets.

The apartment is located at street level inside the old town, so its tourist attraction spots are within walking distance but it was not really noisy at night. Car-parking at street near the apartment was possible and easy for us. This gave us much convenience in moving luggage while checking in and out. The apartment appeared newly renovated and modern with generous sitting space and fully furnished kitchen. This is highly recommended if one choose to visit Caltagirone.

Lovely quiet rural location , you definitely need a car! Not difficult to find and beautiful buildings found at end of drive. Friendly host and staff, although sometimes a little bit of 'Lost In Translation' was evident , especially over trying to book an evening meal ( didn't happen). Anyway we got by by driving into Caltagirone to eat, 10 minutes to get there Excellent breakfast with good choice. Room comfortable and clean.

Casa Vacance Nonna Maria is terrific accommodation in Caltagirone.The owner, Davide, is a wonderful host and very helpful. The accommodation was modern, tastefully decorated, clean with a very comfortable bed. The location is superb - adjacent to the famous stairs. We highly recommend staying at Casa Vacance Nonna Maria  when in Caltagirone!
