The hotel overlooks a spectacular valley yet is right in the town. You can walk to any of the restaurants and even the hilltop tower within minutes. If you are exploring the lower Tuscany region (Tarot Garden, Saturnia, etc) this IS your base. Incredible breakfast, very comfortable beds, great staff. When travelling we usually like to try new places, but when we return to Capalbio we will also return to Valle Del Buttero. It is that good. The closest restaurant is a 2 minute walk. L'angolo Di Capalbia was great - obviously a local favorite, and we were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the cuisine at very reasonable cost.Guest review byNeilCanada - 10.0

Charming hilltop ancient village with delightful winding passages, a castle, ramparts, spectacular views and very good restaurants. The residents are very friendly. Capalbio is close to the Jardin des Tarots de Niki de Saint Phalle which is why we picked this village. It is also not far from the sea. Best wine and food in Italy. Fantastic salumi from Marcelleria norcineria La Ciccia del Brigante, all made by the same man who also serves in the shop in Piazza Silone Ignazio. La Porte and Trattoria Toscana restaurants both great Low light pollution at night, the Milky Way visible in many places there. Capalbio is worth visiting.
Capalbio is worth visiting. The views are beautiful and the architecture is charming. There are a few restaurants that are worth checking out. Is is worth visiting the Tarot Gardens if you can. If you don't have a car you will need to take a cab to from the train station. Worth it!Guest review byStickles
