Beautiful and vibrant city, lots of restaurants, bars . It can get busy during celebrations. Parking can be challenging as very few spaces available around city centre , where you can pay 5€/day . The private parking are expensive up to 20 euros/day. The beach is not busy ,the water is warm and very clear. A very pretty town about an hour's drive from Palermo. Just off the autostrada. Long, sandy beaches on the far side of the town with excellent restaurants. Well serviced by large and small supermarkets (sometimes better value) as well as fresh fish shops and butchers. The town is still (mercifully) still unspoilt. Lots of pretty cafes and gelateria. Castellamare del Golfo is a beautiful town with a harbour, pedestrian zone, beautiful views, excellent restaurants and ice cream. In the evening the city is full of life. A very nice and authentic Sicilian town which has kept its integrity and not become too touristy! Lots of nice individual shops and boutiques as well as many decent restaurants.
