Incredible view of the surrounding countryside and of the erupting Mount Etna in the distance. Fresh fruit and herbs growing from the plants nearby. Lovely bedroom and staff from the hotel Villa Sonia are lovely. Pool was great and the view from the pool area was incredible.

Even before we arrived at the property Antonio was very accommodating towards us. Our flight landed much earlier than the scheduled check in time and we were able to schedule an earlier check in time with problem at all. Upon arriving at the property we were greeted with the utmost hospitality with a welcome basket, a small tour and tips for navigating around. As for the property itself, it couldn’t have been anymore perfect! Stunning views along the terrace in any direction you look. The private pool was a massive plus. It was also very convenient having a full kitchen and a washing machine. The property location couldn’t have been better! Only minutes away to the stairs leading to the town center and a close to the path leading up to Castelmola. If you are looking for a nice, quiet and private place to stay in Taormina then this is definitely the place!

We had an amazing stay with Angelo and his family. We danced, we ate and laughed together and all of this within a relatively short time span. We really wished we could have stayed longer, everything is great about this place from the generous breakfast to the delicious home cooked dinner. Also location is perfect and we preferred it over Taormina centre. Perfect place to wind down.

Castel Mola is a picturesque hilltop town above Taormina. There is a limited bus service but I would not recommend a car. There are lots of steps and narrow streets. The restaurants were good value. The church is interesting and there are great views of Etna.

Quaint town set on the top of a hill - quite amazing to visit! Fantastic views of Mt Etna and surrounds. Many cute restaurants and terraces. If you have the opportunity to stay for dinner the town has a different feel in the evening once the day trippers has have left. The famous Bar Turrisi is fantastic for drinks, dinner or Gelato.

It is a beautiful little mountain top village.

It is a beautiful little mountain top village. Nice hike/walk down to Taormina or easy bus if you wish. Great place to relax. I would worry about it being even more overrun with tourists in peak season but it makes sense why. If you drive by car and are not comfortable with small, steep roads - take some anxiety meds and take your time!

Quiet and quaint village.

Quiet and quaint village. The views are amazing, there are the basic shops like pharmacy and grocer in case you need something. The only downside is the frequency of the busses out of Castelmola. The first one is about 6.30am-7am to go to Taormina, and then the next one is 10am. Most shops open around 10am, except for the cafe in the piazza and the pharmacy, which open earlier. You can get anywhere in Castelmola on foot. There is also il sentiero dei Saraceni which takes you on foot to Taormina. It is a steep walk down so prepare comfortable shoes if you plan on taking this walk.

Amazing place to stay.

Amazing place to stay. We went to Taormina for the day and enjoyed Castelmola during the evenings. Amazing view of the city and Mt Etna from the castle. It was easy to get to Taormina and we used both walking paths to get upto Castelmola, we enjoyed both paths equally. Loads of good shops/restaurants in the area too. Pizzeria Nina for pizza was amazing.

Castelmola is a very nice and well maintained small village. We ate in the B&B so I can not say anything about the restaurants but there are Some nice bars. We had a parking space in front of the B&B for free

We booked the room just a few minutes before we checked-in. Everything was fast and easy. The guy who received us was very nice and helpful. The hotel is simple, spacious and clean. The room and bathroom were spacious, the bed was a comfortable, but the best thing was the balcony with THE VIEW. Do not miss the breakfast with that beautiful view, it is very romantic! Parking was free and easy to find. Regarding location, it is close to the touristic points in Castelmola, but not that close to Taormina touristic area.

The apartment is in an amazing location with an incredible view. The owner was very kind and welcoming. The apartment is old and simple, but it has everything you need. If comfort isn’t your top priority and you’re looking for great views, this is the right place for you. The road to the apartment is fine, but keep in mind you should first drive through the town of Castelmola, otherwise Google Maps might take you on a wrong and very narrow road. The owner will explain everything clearly.

Surrounded by nature, with an incredible view of Castelmola and Taormina. It is remote, with the mentioned rooster near by, with its hairpin bends and unforgettable scenery, made it our best choice to close the two weeks journey in Sicily. Simple, helpful and kindest owners I met in a long time. Managed to visit from here Etna, Alcantara Gorge, Castelmola, Taormina and several beaches.
