There is lots to explore on the Amalfi coast and Conca dei Marina was good base to do exploring once you get used to using the bus system and ferries. The hosts were kind enough to arrange transport from Naples back and forth by private taxi - probably worth the hassle free transfer. Conca is not overrun by crowds like Positano or Amalfi which gave it a more authentic feel and quiet moments. Definitely recommend hiking and exploring the area and Ravenna was also very beautiful. I would not recommend driving and renting a car as parking is hassle and the roads are challenge to drive, lots of blind corners and narrow streets. Weather was great in May, not too hot or cold but not beach weather - no one swimming.Guest review byIanCanada - 10.0

Beautiful views of the bay, nice beaches, and warm waters...Nicely situated between the towns of Amalfi and Positano, so day trips are possible using either public transit or taxis -- buses are an experience but can be very crowded and, due to nature of the roads where there is little room to pass, distances between vehicles can be very close. Restaurants are very good and we didn't have any negative experiences but some walking or a taxi can be required to reach them. All in all, we preferred to visit the larger towns rather than stay in them, and I felt that we got the best of both worlds.Guest review byKarlUnited States - 8.0

The area is much quieter and if using public transport it's very cheap to get around, however busses aren't very reliable and may not stop if too full. The unico app was useful to ensure we always had tickets. Conca dei Marini is a quiet Amalfi coast town without the hustle and bustle of more famous towns but it also doesn’t have that much to see. You would probably want a car to visit the famous Amalfi sites if you stayed in this town. As in general Amalfi coast imo is overrated.
As in general Amalfi coast imo is overrated. Yes, it is unique, yes, it is beautiful, but... It is way too crowded in high season and as there are many tourist all things (including food etc) has very high price but average quality. To get around you need to sit in big traffic jams and there are literally no place to park car, if you are not willing to pay 10 EUR/h for parking - and even then there are places where you just cant park your car. Used the great kitchen to cook and we ate on the balcony with a picturesque view of the sea. Eduardo was a great host and very helpful with all queries especially directions on how to get there after getting off at Hotel Belvedere bus stop.
