Czech RepublicMy family and I spent a week at Hotel Al Sole in Grado, and I can confidently say it was an excellent choice for our summer holiday. Recently reopened under new ownership and beautifully renovated, the hotel combines modern comfort with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
One of the standout touches is the new coffee machine in the breakfast hall—guests can enjoy water or any type of coffee at any time of day, a thoughtful detail that made our stay even more pleasant. The location is fantastic: just a short stroll to the seashore, with both free and private beaches easily accessible.
The staff, though a small team, are incredibly agile, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their warm, supportive service made us feel truly cared for. Parking is available if booked in advance, and I recommend it—it’s safer and more convenient than street parking, ensuring peace of mind during your stay.
Our room was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable new mattress, great air conditioning, and a lovely balcony that offered a beautiful sea view—perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun. Breakfast was included and offered a high-quality selection of fresh fruits, proteins, and more. We also enjoyed a 10% discount at a nearby restaurant serving excellent food with great service.
Overall, Hotel Al Sole exceeded our expectations. Trust the team here to make your holiday special—we certainly had a fantastic summer break and would gladly return!

HungaryLocation right near the main street of the Grado Historic Centre ands 2 minutes to the dam that surrounds the sea in the area. Restaurants, shops and market within 1 minute walk - it was a tourist's paradise.
Breakfast had all that we wanted.
Staff was very-very nice, from cleaning lady to the ones serving breakfast, but especially the ladies at reception, who were always greeting us and treating us as if we were VIPs. The more senior lady was exuding positive energy and good vibes every day :)
This was excellent Italian hospitality, and I highly recommend this hotel.

HungaryThe hotel is in a quiet street, between the sandy beach and another bay where I recommend going for a bike ride or a walk. Bus stop is also less than 100m away. There is free parking as well. And free bikes, which was a highlight of my trip.
The single room is small, but with a large balcony - even had a sea view. All was very clean and tidy, the bed was comfy. Breakfast was also good.
The stuff was friendly. You can easily get to the old town by foot and have a nice 20-minute walk.
Fully recommend it!

An isle, very quiet, not much crowded, there is a possibility to find a free beach easily. Dining and coffee area in the midst of the city is perfect. Old town we loved a lot. It was a perfect location for a trip with small kids (3 and 5 years old)

Quiet yet exciting Italian city with amazing seafood and great beaches. For us as a couple in our late 20s it was the perfect relaxed stay. You can easily cycle, go for a swim, enjoy Café e Cornetto at a local shop... basically anything that you can do in and around e.g. Rome, but less hasty. There are many German and Austrian tourists (but not the drinking-and-partying-kind), so beware if you're allergic to those in your holiday. Also, we didn't encounter any shady dealers or people who try to sell you "premium stuff" at the beaches or in the streets.
We recommend 3-5 days of stay, ideally not around the weekend as the parking situation can be sub-par, and public transport (both within Grado and to reach it from e.g. Austria) is not that great.

The town and the sea were beautiful: ideal for long walks, bathing and relaxation. In case of bad weather there is a thermal bath; for daily or half – daily tours Aquileia, Palmanova and Triest are also a good choice to visit. Recomment to visit also in autumn and spring, not only in summer.

Grado in mid September was not too busy so you could get around easily and get in to the restaurants you wanted to. It’s flat for walking and cycling along the seafront or inland. The old town is great to stroll around and stop for regular drinks!
