La Morra (as the name suggests) is a hill with a charming village filled with restaurants, coffee places and views. You can walk on the village and discover different lanes, views, constructions. On the top of the hill, there's a garden/square where you can see the entire region, it's breathtaking. La Morra is also a good place to stay if you want to explore the vineyards in the region: it is close do Barolo (few minutes away by car), Alba,
Canelli (40 minutes), among others. You should rent a car to make the best out of it, it will give you freedom to go to different places every day and discover spots you never imagined traveling. There are several amazing restaurants located in the region, you shouldn't miss it. Our favorite restaurants in La Morra were Fontanazza Osteria, Osteria Pizzeria per Bacco and Osteria Veglio. Pay attention to the working hours of the restaurants and address before you go. They kind of alternate the days they are closed, so there will be restaurants opened in different days of the week and time. Usually, during the day, there are Menus for lunch set with Starters and then 1st corse and 2nd corse. Dinner is usually a la carte.
In Alba, don't miss the La Romana gelateria, it's delicious!
We visited some vineyards and wine cellars and it was totally worth it to understand why this region is considered World Heritage by UNESCO. The productions are small to preserve the high quality of the product and every vineyard has a "secret" and a way of growing the grapes and making the wine. Truly amazing for wine lovers. We found the tours on WineAround, an app that shows different experiences around you (you can search with a determined location as well) and you can book it with no effort.
Amazing experience, we recommend for anyone who loves wine, nature, spectacular food and breathtaking landscape.
