Super location, the last building in Manarola with a view down over the bay from your own little balcony. The town is jammed with tourists, but you're high enough above them and down a few passages which Joe Public won't access that you're out of the hubbub of it all for your stay. Staff wonderfully friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. You won't see sunset from the room, but if you go out into the thoroughfare in front of the lobby you will get the best view of it from anywhere in the town. Grab a coffee and relax there for a bit to properly enjoy it. The retrofit of the building makes for a really cleverly designed space, there is an espresso machine in the lobby and a kettle in the room if you prefer tea. There is a little shortcut down some stairs nearby which drops you onto the main street of the town, and it's a short walk down to the harbour area to go for a swim or hang around for lunch or similar instead. Plenty of options for pizza, pasta or seafood, as well as sandwiches or pastries and also ice cream. Nice powerful shower in a very spacious bathroom as well, and all very well priced.

Directions to the room were the best of all the places we stayed for our month in Italy. Communication was above and beyond and when we arrived we were blown away by the cleanliness, the amenities and generously stocked fridge, very needed after a long day of travelling. Any questions were promptly answered and knowledge of area and offer to help with Lovers Walk access was wonderful. We can't wait to come back and stay here again

Great village to be based if you want to explore Cinque...

Great village to be based if you want to explore Cinque Terre. The train station is only a short walk from everywhere and there are various food options for breakfasts and dinners. The village itself is very cute and we could see everything in half a day.

3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot.

3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot. We swam, had dinner nightly, met the locals in the wine bar just above the church and visited 2 other towns. Our hotel room was at the very top of the town, and then up 3 flights of stairs. It was a very steep hill. Be sure you know where your hotel is, it's a very vertical town.

Manarola was the perfect base for us; clean, all amenities on doorstep, train every 8 minutes or so, good choice of eateries & clothing/gift shops. Manarola is beautiful to walk around morning, noon or evening - we felt very safe. All towns in Cinque Terre are stunning but Manarola was our favourite. Its size, amenities and busy/quieter area made it the perfect combination. We hiked the Blue Trail over three days with lots of walking and exploring in between. Our favourite trail was Corneglia to Vernazza.

The early mornings and evenings were quite peaceful. It gets fairly busy after 9am. I did take a trip to most of the other villages but found this one to be the best. You can get a rail ticket for the whole day, so hop from town to town. More easily accessible and good value for money. The food was good, has gluten free places, people were lovely. Water was great to swim in and the weather was perfect. Always validate train and bus tickets...big fines 40 euro and up.... if you don't.... even if you buy your ticket, no fare evasion....no leaniency given....I learnt the hard way. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Felt like tourist are targeted in that respect. Shame on you Italy.

Manarola has the prettiest photo opportunities but one has to be able to walk up hills and on cobblestones. It is not a place for wheelchairs, unfortunately. 3 Days was just right for us. The beach is okay for a quick dip but is not large enough for sunbathing. Packing light is also best as rolling suitcases on the streets can rip the wheels right off the suitcases! (We actually saw this happen to someone right in front of us!) We didn’t buy the Cinque Terre pass because it was not possible for us to see all the towns in one day, anyway. We just paid for the train rides we needed.

The host was really nice and communicative. Breakfast was also good, it wasn't a huge buffet but it offered a really nice variety of foods. The unit we were in was spacious enough for two people and really clean. A huge plus is that the unit is about a 10min walk from the train stop, which is great for when you want to use the train to explore other towns. Overall, I really loved my stay and will stay here again it I ever visit Cinque terre again. :)

Stunning location with wonderful terrace giving uninterrupted panoramic views of Cinque terre. Super clean and comfortable room. The attention to details and hospitality of the host Roberto makes this the perfect place to stay when visiting the area. We loved this accommodation so much that this was our second stay here and we’ll definitely be back again

Room had everything we needed, was in a perfect location (2 min flat walk from train station) with a great (very patient) host. Great easy walk to Riomaggiore (with permit) really easy to get to see all of the Cinque Terre (we got 3 day train ticket), glad we stayed here for 4 nights as CT is very popular. It was quiet here at night.
