Milan is an awesome city with awesome sights to see! The Last Supper is stunning, difficult to get in to see it. The Duomo was beautiful. We took a Barolo wine tour (to Alba, a long drive but beautful) and I would recommend that to people who like to do something different. Milano is much smaller and easier to navigate than Rome. We thought Rome was WAY too hot and WAY too crowded. It is difficult to get a taxi in Milano, but Ubers were available (although more expensive.) The airport we had to fly out f rom was 70 minutes away from our hotel in downtown Milano. Plan accordingly! Milan doesn't have many attractions to visit. The highlight of our trip was a trip to Lake Como and Bellagio which cost us about $320 for three people. Nice city with some interesting places to visit. The Dome Cathedral is fantastic and the whole area around it is very nice. Also the Sforzesco Castle is very nice and should be visited. Unfortunately The Last Supper is impossible to be seen without a "guided tour". Milan has plenty of great tourist spots (San Siro, Duomo, Lake Como, etc), but do yourself a favour and book a Hidden Gems bike tour. On these they don’t take you to any of the big tourist spots, but concentrate on showing you things you would very probably never do. Milan is a nice, lively but dirty city. Only suited for a short stay of maybe two days maximum. All attractions seem to be located in the one area around the Duomo. Public transportation is very good and as a girl I felt very safe walking around the city and in the metro at night. As in all cities, you have to be aware of pick pockets, scammers and some street merchants, especially outside the train station. We found many restaurants did not seem interested in tourists and were quite rude when approached, as was the same with some staff in our hotel. We took a day trip to Como which was easily accessible by train and was very enjoyable, would highly recommend.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
