Excellent place to stay in Cinque Terre, close to everything including beach! We stayed in the Junior Suite Split Level and had a beautiful balcony with street view. Included breakfast was amazing as well! Staff went out of their way to help every way they could!

The hotel location is right across the street from the beach. There is a parking lot directly across, but the view is still good. Breakfast was above average. Staff was accommodating. We asked to have some laundry done and it was very reasonable. The room was a bit small, but not uncomfortable. There was a minor problem with the shower head not staying in place in our room that needed to be fixed. Hotel is close to the train station for getting to the other towns in Cinque Terra.

1. The Host - Sabrina, was fantastic. She managed my many dietary intolerances wonderfully and specially made made me dishes I could eat.
2 The Full Breakfast - Each breakfast was magnificent with different hot and cold dishes everyday. And the freshly baked breakfast tarts, pastries, tiramisu and crepes each morning were worth the price of admission. Also, we were so full that we skipped lunch (and the summer crowds) and continued our activities until the evening (of course with a few gelato and negroni stops along the way :))
3. View - We booked a room with a sea view and it didn't disappoint. We woke up each morning to the spectacular ocean.
4. Accommodation - We knew that the accommodation was situated way up in the hills and the room itself was located up a slope with many steps to climb. Also the rooms are "cosy". So large heavy luggage is not recommended and we left our main luggage in Florence (there are many left luggage services all over Italy) Middle opening bags are also to be avoided as things can be a bit tight to lay out that type of bag configuration.
5. Shuttle and Bus services - The accommodation provides regular shuttle services to and from the town at prescribed hours. That worked like clockwork. We also found the public bus as convenient (the bus stop is just outside the accommodation) and gave us more options as to timings. We had purchased the Cinque Terra inter village train tickets and that also allowed us access to the public bus.
6. We'd like to thank Sabrina, Francesca and Claudio for making our stay such an awesome one!

Clean, spacious and a little balcony overlooking the hills. Being right next to the beach was fantastic, right at the foot of many restaurants. Best value for money for the area.

Definitely stay in Monterosso in Chique Terre. It has all the beaches and all the quaintness OR modernity you would want all in one place. Go to the other towns via train, walking, or boat as day outings. They are all tiny and take only an hour or two to see. Monterosso has it all in one. Beaches here are awesome!

To arrive by train to such a fantastic location/beach and then only a short walk to the apartment was a very important feature for us.
Favourite restaurant: Il Castello (the combination of view & food just great).
The bar above the beach in old Monterosso: again the view, the ocean, I love it.

This is not a cheap area of Italy to visit.
This is not a cheap area of Italy to visit. There are many tourists but very few British ones :). The hiking trails are easily accessible, and you can walk the entire 10 ish mile route in a day, with refreshment stops along the way. Some parts are not for the very unfit or physically challenged - some climbs are very steep indeed.
The town itself is stunning, lots and lots of restaurants to choose from, cafes, bars, Gellato shops, souvenir shops, supermarkets. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the accommodation. There is also a hop on/hop off ferry that takes you from village to village - but this costs €41 per person so best to start early to make the most of it! I cannot recommend the Cinque Terre region enough - a real hidden gem filled with treasures aplenty. Try the Buranco Winery for lunch and tastings, a short uphill walk from the accommodation.

Monterosso was not as busy as the other Cinque Terre villages which was what we wanted. Still have access to shops, restaurants and bars . We enjoyed the walk to Vernazza and then realised how lucky we were to be staying in Monterosso as it was just crazy crowds there!

I loved everything about this place.
I loved everything about this place. The people were really nice, the food was amazing and it was the only place in cinque terre to have an accessible beach and it was built on a plain so it was easy to carry a suitcase and to walk around (which I believe would be hard in other places in cinque terre because it was all on mountains). I would 100% travel to this place again but I hope next time the weather would be better (it was raining when I left and when I got there it was cloudy) I was traveling late June and will recommend coming in July but it would probably be way more crowded , but warm weather is important for this stay.

Is a great village to stay in Cinque Terre, it’s mostly flat with good beaches. The village has lots of restaurant options, cafes and bars. Easy to catch the train or ferry to the other villages. Would definitely recommend staying in Monterosso al Mare. Would also recommend staying at Villa Assini.

The building where this hotel is located is simply wonderful, a 17th century palace in the middle of the characteristics carruggi. We loved the private terrace in our room from where we could have a great sea and mountain view. The owner of the hotel is very careful to all requests and he is providing all the information needed to enjoy at maximum the stay.
Really would back if in Monterosso!
It was clean, the room was very nice, the staff was amazing and very helpful, the hotel is located very closed to the beach, in Monterosso so perfectly located to visit the other villages of Cinque Terre with the train, I was sad to leave, and would have stayed longer if my schedule allowed it !
The view is incredible, the staff on arrival went above and beyond… told us everything we could possibly need to know about the hotel and also Monterosso al mare… infact me and my girlfriend both mentioned, it was probably the best, most detailed in depth check in we’ve ever had…
excellent hotel to visit the chinqua terra villages
Daniela the manger was very helpful and kind
