Morbegno is a convenient place to stay in the Valtellina area. We travelled here from Menaggio on Lake Como . On the way we went on a small detour to see the Acquafraggia waterfalls and the amazing Palazzo Vertamate Franchi. We took a nice day trip from Morbegno to the Gerola Alta to visit the Bitto cheese museum . From the second we arrived, we loved our stay. The hosts were extremely gracious and accommodating, the "palace" and grounds were simultaneously ancient and beautifully renovated and clean. We booked one room with separate beds, but the hotel owner kindly provided us with two separate rooms instead. Everything in the room was thought through to the smallest details, so our stay was as comfortable as possible. We really liked how clean, quiet and peaceful the hotel was. The breakfast was great, everything was made from local natural produce, very delicious, beautiful with great variety. Next morning the hotel owner kindly dropped us off at the train station.
