One of the prettiest wine villages in the Barbaresco region (although they are all quite lovely). Surrounded by vineyards and excellent high quality local restaurants in the old centre. A couple of great pizza restaurants in the main village down the hill for when you want something a bit simpler. Many local wine villages to visit by car, although it is possible to walk via the “sentieri” paths if you can find a good map (not easy!). We walked to Barbaresco which was a lovely circular walk (about an hour and a half each way with lots of stops)

Neive is a small and beautiful hill town that is one of the main Barbaresco villages. There are a few decent restaurants in town. Also, has a few good wine bars. The countryside right outside town is great.

Neive is one of the nicest villages in Italy and the capital of Barbaresco wine (together with the Barbaresco village itself) which together with Barolo wine are among the two best red wines in Italy. Absolutely recommended for people loving the countryside, nature and good food & wine..

Nice hill side village.
Nice hill side village. However tourist beware that food , wine and accommodation are over priced for what is a nice but not marvellous location when compared to what is available in other parts of Italy. In hindsight I think we should have avoided this region of Piemont.

Neive is awesome!
Neive is awesome! A nice authentic village with great restaurants and great athmosphere.
I loved the local Tajarine with mountain butter, with a glass of chilled roero arneis... It’s Italy at it’s best!

This is wine region heaven for anyone who appreciates real quality wines. It’s beautiful picturesque rolling hills are full of vines. The very character full grape variety Nebbiolo is widely grown in this area, with the best quality Barolo, Barbaresco wines produced. As well as robust reds, the white wine variety’s are definitely to be sampled, some of which are lesser known, but definitely deserve to be ranked very highly.
Enjoy the tranquility and savour the wines with local cheeses and magnificent foods.
The surroundings are beautiful and the small village of Neive was just perfect for our short stay. There are tons of nice restaurants and the host of Borgese knows all about it. She reserved the restaurants and wine tastings for is and explained everything that we could do during our stay. The room is just perfect with this incredible view from our balcony. In the morning a very extensive breakfast was prepared for us, which was very tasty. One of the best b&b’s we ever stayed in!
We thoroughly enjoyed our much too short stay at L’Aromatario! The accommodations were lovely and our breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Catarina is the perfect hostess and made us feel completely at home during our visit. Our one regret is that we happened to be there the 2 nights their highly rated restaurant is closed during the week. Not to worry… just another reason for a return visit to the beautiful village of Neive and this magical property!
We had a warm welcome by the owner, he showed us our room and helped us to carry our luggage to the room. The room was very clean, with plenty of towels, soups and even slippers. The balcony had a lovely view. The breakfast was really superb, the best we had served in Italy, It included coffee, hazelnut cake that was delicious, pastries, yogurt, toast and fruits.
The location was great, in the heart of historical Neive.
Antonella is the hostess you dream off! She is the personification of hospitality. She is very very friendly and provides you with everything you need. The breakfast is a treat and wonderful to enjoy outside in the shade. The location is clean and perfectly located to explore Piemonte. Several nice restaurants can be reached within a couple of minutes on foot in the historic center of Neive. Grazzie mille, Antonella!
Great location at the border of Neive. Spectacular view of the city and the surrounding hills. We used the appartment to explore the area and that was great. The appartment was really big and comfortable. Very new. Great shower and nice bed. The hosts were amazing. We booked very last minute and it was no problem at all. Parking place for the car in front of the building.
Borgo Vecchio was exquisite! we had a larger suite with extraordinary views! Plus, on hot summer days the AC worked perfect! Kept us very comfortable, especially at night for a perfect slumber. Also, the hotel restaurant had some of the best Piedmont food and other Italian dishes and desserts of our entire tour of Italy trip!! A place you must eat at.
Right in the middle of the medieval village of Neive. Great views for the small balcony. Large and comfortable room, with free internet and all appliances. Large and clean bathroom. Super generous staff: we got a free room upgrade, and free extra coffee from the cafe downstairs. Great price with a huge and varied breakfast included.
7 Cozy rooms, familiar environment, Amazing location (superb view on the wineyards) great homemade breakfast (homemade cakes, marmalade, local cheese and products, good Italian coffee), but what makes the experience better than a 5 star hotel are the hosts that make you feel like at home.
The Villa Lauri was right outside the old town area of Neive. The view was fabulous, and it was easy to walk into town to explore and have dinner. The staff at the hotel was kind and helpful, and we had a lovely stay.
This was the most beautiful place. Neive is a quiet village in the Italian countryside. The hotel was absolutely lovely. The owners were attentive but relaxed. The rooms were beautiful and unique. We loved it.
Great centralized location, spacious room, good AC, tasty breakfast buffet, free parking nearby the hotel (short walk), it was nice having the wine bar downstairs - great selection
Paolo is a great host and the place is set in the vineyards of Barbaresco. the rooms are spacious and very clean, great breakfast and very close to Neive. I’ll be back.
everything!!!! the location is stunning, the hotel was spotless clean, immaculately run and Benedetta the owner, is a fantastic host. and her breakfast was amazing.
L’aromatario is a beautiful hotel with some of the best views you will find in Italy. Family/staff are lovely and caring, and the restaurant is very good.
The property is in the perfect Piedmont hill town of Nieve. We stayed in the deluxe suite and loved the bathrooms. Breakfast was an amazing daily treat.
The outstanding breakfast of Margot and her hospitality in service and recommendations for places to visit in and around Neive. Margot is a great host!
