Surrounded by countryside at the borders of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio, Altarocca Wine Resort overlooks the town of Orvieto, which is 7 km away. We spent nice week and the personnel hospitality was perfect. All the staff was really helpful and Daniele and Roberto in the restaurant are the best. Breakfast was diversified and could satisfy all the needs we had. The location was OK with the fantastic view. Swimming pool close to Enoteca is nice, the silent atmosphere around made our vacation very relaxed. Having Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregion in a small distance and Peruggia with a nice Tiber valley on the way we got a lot new impressions for next weeks. Dont forget to visit the spa - its also a nice place.

Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is one of Italy's great historic towns. The cathedral is nothing short of breathtaking, and the rest of the historic centre is just great too. There are incredible views of the surrounding countryside, a subterranean town to discover ('The Underground'), interesting shops and market and, well, wonderful sights everywhere you look. Don't miss it!
The cathedrale is stunning and one of the best in all of Italy. This is a wine town, so only drink the local wine...it's so good. Must eat at one of the many butcher shops...porchetta sandwich and pasta with wild boar.
Orvieto is my kind of city: big enough to have lots of family-owned shops and restaurants (including many open on a Sunday), but small enough to navigate. You could spend 3 or 4 days in Orvieto and get a real feel for the place and the people.
This little town is stunning, like being in the middle of tuscany, but its not really on the tourist map so it's really cheap to stay, eat and drink. Had amazing food here, beautiful little streets to walk around. If your driving down south, stop here for a night, it's a minute off the autostrada. you won't regret it. Great coffee, pizza, wild boar.
The history of the city is very rich, and that (English) Pope Adrian liked the place so much it might have become the permanent Seat of the Papacy in the Middle Ages; all very fascinating. The cobbled streets, the churches (especially the Duomo) and so many of the old buildings add great charm.
Picture perfect! Lunch at Da Carlo was a top 10 food experience. Family owned, super friendly, the locals were eating there too! Stunning location and sublime food. Gorgeous Italian gift shop full of unique and affordable gifts and style ideas.
Everything about this place was perfect. Serena always answers her photo to help you and is so helpful. My room was large and well appointed with a comfortable bed. My family’s rooms upstairs were huge, and my friends had a balcony. I would never stay anywhere else in Orvieto! It’s perfectly located just off the Duomo piazza, down a charming street with restaurants and shops. Serena is very helpful with directions, recommendations, reservations, and more. I cannot believe how little we paid for this hotel!
Stunning in everyway. The size and grandeur of Palazzo Febei added to the beauty and enjoyment of our visit to Orvieto. A feeling of home, luxury and style. In the middle of Orvieto, location was outstanding, moments walk to everything - Duomo, restaurants, supermarket, shops, funicolare, train station. Ale & Cesare went beyond our expectations in their assistance. Loved Palazzo Febei. Will visit again. A must recommended locations. Perfection
This would have to be right up there with the best apartments we stayed in during our 2 month travelling in Spain, France and Italy. Newly renovated, spacious and lacking in absolutely nothing in terms of facilities, the apartment is quite gorgeous. It is also centrally locates with a car space available around the back of the property. The owner met us on arrival and was very helpful and nice to us. I wish we had stayed here longer! This place is a gem.
What a great place in a quiet part of the town but still so close to everything. Enzo was the best host we’ve had in Italy. The type of host that would go out of his way to ensure a great stay. He even picked us up and dropped us off at the station. The apartment was very comfortable with a modern touch....and the shower has to be the best ever for weary travellers!
The hospitality of Angela that gave us very important information where to eat, where to go and all other relevant info . The house is very cozy and calm. You are at country side with outstanding views on the landscape. Thanks Angela for everything . When we return to Italy we will program out trip to repeat the experience and explore the beautiful area of Úmbria.
The agriturismo is perfectly situated for a visit to the Orvieto area. It has magnificent views of the town. We spent time each evening sitting outside, sipping wine and watching the sun glow off of the Duomo in the distance. Fabrizio, who checked us in, was very helpful and informative. We will cheerfully stay there again the next time we’re in the area.
Very convenient for the railway station to Rome, only an hour away, the shuttle service offered was very welcome. The room was spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. Breakfast was great with homemade jams. Fresh flowers in the room from the garden too! The property backs on to the footpath to the Duomo in Orvieto.
The property was centrally located in the hilltop historic town of Orvieto. It was bright, airy and immaculate. It is within ten minutes of the Duomo and “Must See” Museums. The Main Street Of Corso Cavour where you can enjoy shopping, restaurants and gelato.
The apartment is centrally placed in old Orvieto just yards from the Corso. It is nicely aged, well kept, clean and adorned with wonderful original art. The family that own it are extremely helpful in arranging baggage, parking and entry.
Most comfortable bed we slept on in Italy over a month of travelling. The room was very well presented and the shower was great. We also spent a few hours in the spa and it was a bit expensive but worth it for the relaxation.
The location is the best! The shower in our room was one of the best showers I’ve ever had in Italy. The water was warm. The pressure was strong.
Great hotel. The shower was good size, especially for Italy. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great location. Beautiful view of the Duomo from living area. Charming city
The room was charming! La camera era carina! Lots of room, a queen size bed and a single bed. With a balcony. A beautiful shared patio right outside our door. The bathroom was fine, plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. A cute breakfast room with typical Italian breakfast. Yummy cappuccino made to order. All of the staff was very friendly and very helpful, with restaurant advice, very accomodating. Perfectly situated, close to the funicular, and an easy walk to the center of town and the amazing duomo. All the pictures on the webiste were accurate, it was even better in person!
Beautiful, spacious apartment on a functioning farm with great olive oil. Easy/close to visit Orvieto, but a peaceful retreat with great views. Giulio will take good care of you. We came here for cycling and sightseeing in Orvieto and were very happy we stayed at Villa Monteporzano.
Wonderful Location, friendly staff, great rooms, excellent food. The owners do everything to make you feel welcome. A really great place to stay.
